Notification LED on S10?

Is the color of the apps on the AOD a setting in Pie? Or does it just automatically do that?

I think it does it automatically, and someone mentioned it matches the icon theme, but I can't confirm since I don't have Pie on my Note yet (and judging from all the posts here... maybe that's a good thing haha).

For people 'missing' the LED, you can always buy one of those BT 'dongles' or tiny keychains that light up with notifications. Or just like with the S2 years ago, I'm sure someone will come up with an app to emulate the LED on screen.

The headphone jack is an iffy issue. As long as I have my headphones charged, then I don't need it. If I had to rely on my wired backups, then I do need it.

The led is a bit different. I find it useful for knowing that an important notification is hidden among all the others. No feature exists to replace it. Once I upgrade my phone, I will have to treat notifications differently. There wouldn't be much difference between turning notifications on or off, they wouldn't be as effective.

Honestly, I couldn't tell you. I never used notifications on lock screen or AOD since I had LED to let me know. But if you say it's about how it looks on Oreo, I'll trust you. I guess I can turn the features on for the next week to get used to them in time for Friday's (I hope) delivery.

Just stumbled upon an app called Always On Edge - Edge Lighting on play store that claims to transform the edge panel into a persistent light with settings to assign colors to different notifications. So, if it works as it claims, it may be a nice work around. Edge screen will light up blue for messages from so and so, and green for email, etc. Will have to give it a shot anyway.

EDIT: I've been playing around with the above app for a little now, and it does have potential. It gives you the option to select which apps set it off, what color you want it to use, how long you want it to stay lit, etc. So for example, when I get a text through the app "Textra", The screen turns on, and the entire edge panels (the entire outside of the screen) lights up in my selected color for 2 minutes. You can change the timing to whatever, or have it at always on. A slight downside is that the screen stays on, and not just the edge panel, but it also lets you set the screen to a black background for easier visibility and to reduce battery demand. It is by no means perfect, but if, like me, you REALLY liked having an LED blinker, this may at least be something else to try. It's free with ads.

If it works, it will make the S10 line tolerable. Extremely overpriced, but tolerable

It would be great if that was already baked into the system. If not, at least let 3rd party devs use it hehe. (Not sure if that part of the screen is 'restricted' or what). But see? OPTIONS! Yay!

It notifies you that you have switched to front cam doesn't it? So it's technically a notification light, but not for notifications, yet.

The headphone jack is an iffy issue. As long as I have my headphones charged, then I don't need it.

And as long as my battery is charged, I don't care how big the battery is or what its life is.
