Ok I see
They could certainly turn it into a notification light, but I would be curious if there's any battery impact since it's not just an LED.

Would be nice to have it pulsating. The ring animation for the front camera looks pretty cool, that would be a suitable replacement for the LED, and a better looking one. As for battery life, it's such a small portion impact would be pretty much negligible. And if reviews are true, battery life on this one is exceptional.
I agree I think the animation coming from the front camera would look different and unique

Yes, that is what I was expecting after reading about their patent. Now it's a hope rather then an expectation.Would love to see led around camera for notifications ..

I really thought I saw on Twitter a very long time ago the Galaxy S10+ have a light over the cutout. Maybe it was fake but it looked real. I saw it on my timeline a long time ago on Twitter. Maybe it's an update they will release when the phone is release Friday. I have a feeling if enough people want it, Samsung will put a notification light thing put it in a update eventually.
I also have a unrelated topic.
On the Android phone you can customize features. For example someone can create an app for a notification type light if the S10 doesn't have it. Can you do stuff like that on Apple phones? Create stuff like that to help improve it the phone?
And as long as my battery is charged, I don't care how big the battery is or what its life is.
You have to have a sense of humor. What does that have to do with anything?
You have to have a sense of humor.![]()
I have one, but I fail to see punchline
You see a punch-hole!![]()
Sorry, had to take ithahahaha
As for the post... I don't know, I guess someone mentioned battery life in their BT headphones (when we started talking about how the notification LED is a dying feature like headphone jacks and home buttons) so it probably has something to do with that...just weirdly worded?
Next up: Note 10, with an S-Pen silo that doubles as a headphone jack because we ran out of places to put it! Yay!
(actually that wouldn't be terrible...)
It does have it... ish. There's a pretty nice ring animation exactly around the front camera when you use it, to let you know you're using it, and lights up to let you know where to look when taking pictures. But hopefully they'll enable that also as a notification light.
As for the iPhone, not really. Apple locks down most of their system, and seldom allow anything to go on the lockscreen. For something like this to work, the app needs to work over that, and iOS doesn't have a way of doing that unless you're jailbroken.
They still can't sort apps alphabetically automatically (you do it once, and every app after that gets installed at the last spot, and you have to do it again manually). I don't think widgets is at the top of their to-do list hehe
I guess they do have their version of widgets now, on lockscreen and the pull up toolbar.
