Notification on incoming text?

Hello, when I receive a text on my HTC ONE M9, the notification sounds every 15 seconds until I attend to the text. I only need it to sound once or twice at the most. I have unchecked every option in Sound and Notification but it continue to sound (Lilac) every 15 or so seconds. Surely, this is part of the phone's sounds and not anything to do with my email account as I have read in earlier posts. They are two(2) separate operations in my world. How do I get a one-time text sound when a text comes in? Thank you for all your great info here!

Open system settings > accessibility > notification reminder. You should be able to disable that feature and stop the repeat notifications from sounding periodically - let us know if this helped.

Thank you srkmagnus. I found your instructions under System(bold type) in Accessibility. It says 'Unread notification reminders off-Remind me every 15 seconds. It was toggled on! Thank you! I would have never thought to look there. Maybe that should be a toggle choice in the Sounds and Notifications?<<< Sheesh... I have lived with this for a year now and just toggle Do Not Disturb at night. Today I decided to 'climb that mountain' and ask around. You are my favorite so far!! Thank you!
