Notification repeating on ambient display

Is it me or do notifications repeat like 3-4 x when a a notifications wake up the screen and show full colors.. Doesn't that Kill the battery with The phone keep waking up any way to change that

You can go into setting and turn off if you are really worried about battery life.

settings>display>ambient display.

Doesn't make a big enough difference in battery, but the execution is a little clunky unlike moto active notifications.

That's how it's supposed to work. AD will pulse your notification a few times to let you see incoming at a glance and then stop. Keep in mind this phone has a dedicated co-processor on board to handle things like AD to alleviate main CPU usage which in turn alleviates battery drain. So if it's effects on battery life from AD you're worried about, don't.
