Notification screen

Does anyone know if there's a way to turn off all that extra crap on the notification screen? I'm talking about the you are connected to wifi and other stuff.

I just really hate that stuff in it take up so much space. Just thought I'd ask.

I second this. It's redundant in Android 4.2.2 and takes up have the notification screen.

Idk if it's because I have the unlocked version, but I don't see that "Connected to Wifi" on my phone. Its probably because mine is unlocked because my GS3 had that.
I think the only way to remove it is with rooting
