Notification Screen?

Brand new S10E user long time Galaxy owner. When I got the phone 2 days ago it was set so that when a notification came in the screen would wake up and shoe the date and time along with the notification. It would stay on until I cleared it. I must have changed something since that no longer happens. I can leave the screen on all the time but I'd like to go back to when it woke up when it had something to say. Suggestions?

Do you mean AOD (Always On Display) ?

Sorry, just saw this. It was like always on but it didn't come on until there was a notification..in the absence of an Led I am trying to find a way to get a visual notification

Have you checked in settings then lock screen>tap notifications
