Notification sound won t work and other odd stuff

I checked my settings...all volumes are good, changed he tone, rebooted the system etc, ran a deep virus scan. I use iobit security for mobile. It works every once in a while, but rarely. Also another odd thing...now the past couple of weeks im getting game pop ads at various odd time...even when on a call. Any sage advice pearls of wisdom greatly appreciated. The phone is an 7 and about a year old. I keep all system updates current.

Welcome to Android Central! The popup ads are likely due to some adware that came with one of the apps you installed -- you may have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem goes away. AMC Security (IObit's security app) might be responsible -- the Play Store page does mention that it contains ads.
