Notifications for SMS don't go away some times

So basically I get a SMS, and the notification is at the top, and I go into it. Yet sometimes the notification doesn't go away. Or even the number on the icon for it, doesn't happen all the time, but does 75% of the time. Any fix?

Are you going to the message directly through the app or through the notification in the window?

The notification won't clear if you just open the messaging app and go to the conversation. You either have to tap the notification or clear the notification using the clear button.

Also, check to make sure that you dont have notifications set for two SMS applications (if you are using something other than stock app).

I have the same problem, prior to froyo I didn't have this problem. But sure why it happens since I'm not using anything other than what the phone comes with.
