Notifications making notification sound whenever they're updated. How to fix?

[Android Central Question]

I just migrated from a Huawei P20 Pro to a Pixel 4, and for some reason whenever a notification has its text updated, a notification sound, and optionally vibration, is generated whenever the text is updated.

Examples for this are notifications that show progress for anything, like audio messages playing, or file downloads.

I can't figure out how to disable this.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You try setting>then sounds anything there you can mess with?

Welcome to Android Central! For any of those notifications, swipe them halfway (i.e., don't swipe them completely away), then tap the gear icon, and then tap the gear icon again. That should take you to the app's notification options. You can adjust things there, sometimes with a lot of granularity (especially if it's a system app).
