Notifications volume turning itself down

Did you get any other answers? My issue (actually, our issue, since I have 5 Galaxy S4s (Sprint) in the family) all started randomly muting themselves randomly after the Lollipop update (which stinks, by the way). What's worst is that the muting occurs in the ringtone, causing us to miss calls. And since receiving calls is one of the most fundamental purposes of a phone, my wife is about ready to have a lobotomy and get an iPhone.

I have the same problem with my ringtone and system volume. I tried Volume Control+ it didn't work. I tried recovery and wiped cache data partition to no avail. Now I tried to freeze my apps one by one and Wheel Volume app seems to be the culprit. Switching from sound on to Silent mode then back again the volume stays the same, for now. G900F

I downloaded the Volume Control + app by Coffeebreak and it resolved my problems.

I have the same problem and I have the Coffeebreak app...it doesn't work for me and I'm actually of the opinion that the Volume Control Pro app is the culprit. I just can't prove it yet. I think I will uninstall the app and test it out.

Hm. Based on what some of you mentioned, I uninstalled Volume Control Pro and then installed Llama. When I was modifying my profiles, Llama posted a message to me as follows:

"Ice Cream Sandwich (Versions 4.0+) no longer supports having a notification tone volume that is different from the ringtone volume. You should edit your profiles so that they no longer do this, otherwise Llama will incorrectly think that the volume has changed and may activate the profile lock. Android 4.0 - one step forward, another step back :( "

So I'm thinking that's the problem. If you link the Ringtone and the Notification Volume, perhaps the problem will go away. Of course, that's only half a solution because I don't want my Notification sound to be as loud as my Ringtone...
