My S7Edge updated to Nougat Wednesday night and things were fine at first. Thursday morning the phone restarted after a few minutes of use. Then, on my 40 minute train ride into work, the phone restarted 4 more times. This continued throughout the day approximately every 30 minutes and it would be come very hot.

I reached out to T-Force and they had me do a few troubleshooting steps that didn't correct it and ultimately had me do a full master reset. I performed the reset last night around 8pm and everything seemed fine. Then this morning, a restart. It has done it about 3-4 times today since I woke up around 6am.

I reached out to T-Force again and they told me to either wait it out for a software update or exchange it. They did mention that they've received a lot of customer calls about it.:'(

Question here .... Samsung supposedly did a lot of testing before releasing Nougat for updates. Why after the testing are there so many problems? Sounds like testing wasn't very thorough?

Oh yea, tried everything that T-Mobile support could walk me through via the phone. I factory reset twice and cleared the cache more than twice.

After some thinking on my train ride home this evening I had an idea. I have a 256G micro sd card. I came home and took it out and the resets stopped. It has been over 5 hours with no reset. I've cleared the card and reformatted it and am going to try it before putting my stuff back on it. I think that may have been the issue but only time will tell.

You know back when I had a note 3 it had terrible quirky issues like that that mostly resolved once that card was removed. Those can become corrupt.

My wife's S7 edge has had a SanDisk 200gb card in it for almost a year with no issues. And it has over 4 thousand photos and countless videos stored on it.
