Nov 8 2010 maintenance update

After Nov OTA on rooted DInc (Unrevoked3), was having some Wifi issues. Screen off combined with Juice Defender didn't restart the Wifi when the screen came back on. Had to uninstall/install JuiceDefender. Now the Wifi is working as expected again.

So I am wondering if any one has come across a new fix for the VZW CD-rom drive that is loading after the update. Ran the dialer disable, still get it coming up when I connect to the computer. Re-enabled it then re-disabled it still comes up. Any one have a suggestion as to how to get this shut down again?

If you have root, move the CDROM.ISO file out of the /system/etc directory.

So I uprooted my phone to get this update, and when I for back to unrooted stock 2.2 I got the notification for the update, accepted, it counted down for reset and...nothing. What's wrong here?

Does anyone know how to get the 5Mb + email file attachment capability back?

The update was supposed to allow this but it actually made my device limited to 5Mb or less and that has destroyed the HD video capability through email.

I just wanted to add a quick update from my original post:

This update unfortunately did not fix the .wma/.mp3 tag issues with my music files. It still shows random songs as "Artist Unknown". I've even plugged the phone in my computer and saw that the "missing" information is indeed there with all my music, it's just the phone is not seeing it.

I'm with you on that issue !! I just did the dialer fix a short time before this POS November OTA "Update" and it was working good, now that function is trashed again.
**** I'm getting tired of battling with the Morons at VZW to have a good working device!!

Thanks for that. I have been on the fence about rooting the thing for a while now going back and forth about weather or not I would use it. I think once unrevoked catches up with the update I will go ahead and do it see how it feels and if all else fails I can always restore it to factory.

Is there anyway to back this "update" out? I'm running a stock Dinc. Since the update it has been extremely flaky. I've had a "low on space" condition pretty much continually since the update. Apps are force quitting left and right. It seems as though EVERY app I have installed is running in background mode. All my apps seem to drag.

Basically, my phone seems crippled since the update.

Did the update and now my phone is randomly doing it's own thing. It's like the bottom buttons are all being pressed. I can't use the phone but for a minute or two before it starts wiggin out. It eventually locks up the screen and i have to press the power button as if i'm locking it to shut it off. I'll hit the button to unlock the screen and it'll be back to normal for a little bit and then starts freaking out again.

I've also had issues accessing the market and numerous force closes but I don't know what is force closing because I don't have anything open and running that I'm aware of...It's like there's a ghost in the machine! Anyone have knowlege or suggestions? Phone not rooted and I'm not as tech savvy as most of you who post here...really want to avoid a factory reset.

Well, I'll try asking here, since I see nothing around any of the forums...

Has anyone else had any problems with deleted messages in Gmail syncing with the desktop version since the update?

-Whenever I delete an email or thread in the Gmail app, it still counts it towards the total number of emails in the Inbox.
-The email/thread does NOT show up in the Inbox on my phone, even after refreshing.
-The email/thread DOES show up in the trash on my phone.
-When I access Gmail from my PC, the email/thread shows up in my Inbox, and allows me to delete it.
-After deleting emails/threads on my PC, they no longer are counted towards my Inbox total on my DInc.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Just a heads up, the factory reset probably won't cure it...and you'll waste hours setting it back up.
I've been through 2 replacements(!!), a factory reset, *22899, and multiple battery pulls...nothing has worked so far.
After the last go around with VZW tech, I was offered a Fascinate as a exchange but will hold out a little longer for VZW to fix the software first.

If we don't get a fix soon, i'm gonna go to a different phone in December. I can't handle the problems that i'm having. It's a constant fight with the phone to just make a simple call anymore.

I got a call from the HTC developer dept. today and was told there would be a software patch released in December to address the bugs in the November update. She also told me that they have been swamped with problems since the Nov. update was released. So much for "No major issues" with the update like some have tried to tell us. LMAO !!
Anyway, hang on a little if you can, hopefully the patch coming out fixes your phone.
