I've been a Nova Prime Launcher user for many years and love the added flexibility.

Any experience or feedback using the Nova Prime Launcher with the Pixel 3 XL?

Is there any reason to believe it would be different for the 3?

I read that the gestures did not work very well with Nova (or other non-pixel launchers) during the beta program. Since gestures cannot be disabled, it could impact how navigation works with Nova on the 3.

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. If the new gestures suck as much as I anticipate I'm hoping to use Nova to fix the problems Google introduced.

Since there are some physical differences between my 2 XL and the 3 XL I've ordered, most notably the notch, and the new requirement of writing to areas on either side of the notch that haven't been written to before, I'm guessing that some updates must be made to Nova to accommodate these changes.

I've asked questions concerning the use of Nova and the Pixel 3 XL using email support on the Nova website. I have yet to receive any answers.

Mike, I don't recall if you use Nova Prime. Do you?

Nova will handle the notch fine. It works fine on the OnePlus 6 with the notch.

That's great, but does it add back in the button functionality that Google mistakenly removed with the addition of gestures?

I am pretty sure Nova cannot add the buttons back. My question is how will gestures work with Nova, since the buttons are gone on the 3?

I've been going back and forth between the stock Pixel launcher and Nova on my Pixel 2. At the moment with Android Pie I'm using stock which I like, but I'll probably switch to Nova sometime soon.

1. I don't see any conflict between any launcher and the new navigation mechanism. And I'm pretty sure google thought how to integrate the new navigation with 3rd party launchers
2. Nova is always very fast on adopting new features

Disclaimer: using Nova Prime for years. Haven't used neither Pixel 3 nor Android Pie nor the new gesture navigation yet
