November Security Update (Also Saturation/Nav Bar Fade Update)

Unlocked Google store Pixel 2 on Verizon. I think I've warn a dent in my screen checking for the update. With my original Pixel I had the security patches in the first week of the month without fail. I'm trying to be patient but it's not easy.... Oh well, I guess I'll get it soon.

Same exact boat here...

Same for me. I think the December patch is going to be out before we get the November.

Came here hoping for answers or at least to find out I wasn't alone. Pixel2XL from Google Store on Google Fi, still on September security patch.

Got bored of waiting and sideloaded it yesterday night. Smoothest sideload ever. Phone is still slippery smooth and Boosted color scheme works great for me.

I have the Verizon Pixel 2. So where do I find instructions? Where do I look? I thought I had to have an unlocked bootloader?
An unlocked bootloader is for ROMs and rooting. Not loading official updates.

I'll try and find the instructions soon. I'm out and about right now :P.

You can always flash the factory image (or take OTA updates) with an unlocked bootloader. But don't bother unlocking if you're going to stay stock...

I followed this video step by step and although he is updating a Pixel 2XL and I have a Pixel 2, it still worked great. I like that this guy is not assuming you know anything about rooting or sideloading. All the links to what you need are in his description, too.

Had to do a factory reset for other reasons, and that finally prompted the Nov 5 update. This was on 11/15, unlocked Google Store bought with Tmo sim. Seems ridiculous no matter how you look at it.

I got tired of waiting and side loaded it using the video a couple pages back. Took about 15 minutes total, I've spent more time than that pushing the "check for update" button.

This is ******* unacceptable. The entire point of the Pixel phones are timely updates.

I'm on EE too and was considering upgrading.

Tired of this Android mess.

Hop on over to Apple if you can handle iOS :).
