November Security Update (Also Saturation/Nav Bar Fade Update)

I'm so confused on this patch that people are talking about with saturated option I'm running the 8.1 through beta and checked for an update and nothing and I don't have an option for saturated look

You don't get the update..... If you are running the BETA (8.1), you ride in the beta lane... which means you get nothing in the way of updates.... You just get the newest beta when it releases (normally about every 6 weeks). So, I think you will see a new beta in about 2 weeks (which should include the November patch... but probably not the Dec patch).

Oh ok cool I thought I was going crazy didn't know that patch was for non beta lol. I was like why isn't my phone getting it. Thanks for the quick response.

So last mention of anyone getting the security patch was 5 days ago. Anyone since then? I wonder if they paused it for some reason.

Soothing is seriously wrong if everybody's not updated before December.
Google's promise of timely updates!

I can the clear framework cache as posted on a video early on and then noticed some issues with notifications from some apps. So I did the factory reset yesterday and the patch installed with my initial phone setup. So I got it within the past 5 days, but it is a slightly different circumstances than you are asking about @cbreze

I don't recommend this way of getting the update... I went this route and had notification issues constantly. The only solution was to uninstall the broken app or re-install or factory reset...

I ended up doing the factory reset... Was very impressed with the backup as it reinstalled everything and even saved my screen setups.

Clearing the framework cache is usually not the best idea.

Did the same and broke some stuff, mainly notifications. I was hoping for the patch when I factory reset to fix the issues. Fixed the issues but no patch. So still waiting.

Side Note: My old HTC 10 has been on Octobers security patch coming up on a month. I upgraded to the P2 from the 10 hoping for timely security updates. the irony, oh the irony. If the 10 gets Novembers patch before the P2 , well, then??? That would be complete.

Well, I said if I didn't get the update by Tuesday evening I'd go ahead and sideload. Still don't have any update and have not sideloaded. Too much going on with the holiday so I guess maybe next week. I just don't understand what is taking soooooo long to receive it. NEVER had this before with my Pixel.

You're lucky. In the UK, my HTC 10 never got monthly patches. I got one as part of the jump to Android v7 and the next one didn't come until early September!

Still waiting here also for my Pixel 2 XL...

They probably have some screen fixes in the update and are pushing it out slow to make sure everything is good, just a guess seen as how I'm on my second Pixel 2 XL because of the screen.

This could very well be the case but if so, why not send the security update separately? I'm not concerned with screen fixes being on a P2(non XL). I'm hoping future security updating is more timely.

was this recent update just for Google Pixel 2XL and not Google Pixel 2? still haven't got if for the Pixel 2. I did how the video showed 2 weeks but that didn't work. about to try it again.
