I get that there isn't a month to month change in tech, but generally speaking, the pixel 3 and 3XL launched with the same ram and processor that phones had 9 months before. The pixel 3 was more expensive than either the S9 or S9+ which had launched months ago, and even if there wasn't a new Snapdragon available to use, they did not make up for it in RAM or a lower price, and the Pixel 3XL actually had less RAM than it's S9+ counterpart. By the time the pixel 3 launched, you could get a new S9 for $100 less than it's launch price, making the price gap even worse. I get that raw performance specs aren't everything...pixel 3 has a better camera obviously, unlimited photo storage and better speakers, but I'm just sayin'. The memory issues the pixel 3 had at launch are evidence of this issue. Even in MKBHD's latest video on the pixel 3, he said that he keeps getting pulled to OnePlus cus of performance issues on the pixel 3. It's insane that Google didn't learn it's lesson. He said the EXACT same thing about the pixel 2 and switched back to OnePlus. Smdh.
