Odd charging behavior?

Hello all,

Tonight I plugged my S5 to start charging and I do see the little battery icon with the lightning bolt, indicating that it is, indeed, charging.

However...as I sit here and type this --- every 30 seconds or so, I hear a little sound (as if I'm getting a text message or other notification) and the lock screen lights up. Pauses a while and then darkens...and then repeats.

Is this normal for charging? I've closed all background apps, etc. I've cleared all my notifications.

Just wondering if I should be concerned that this shouldn't be happening --- off/on/off/on/etc.

Thanks much!

Hi Gear and Masum and thank you for responding. :)

On a lark, I unplugged it from a "multi outlet" device that has USB jacks built in. I thought perhaps it was getting "hiccups" of energy. And that seemed to help...now it's through its own adapter and the adapter is plugged into the multi-outlet device...go figure.

Thanks again!

mine did this when I was using the cord that came with it and a travel adapter that didn't. used both that shipped with it together and it's silent. use an old cord/old adapter it's also silent.
