Hello.
This is my first post here. I apologise if this question has been asked elsewhere. I have a spreadsheet that is in excess of 3MB in size. It contains a lot of index and match formulae. I have tried to use Kingsoft Office and OliveOffice Premium to use the file but with both apps I am only able to view the spreadsheet. When I try to edit the spreadsheet using Kingsoft office, I am told it is too large. When I try to edit the spreadsheet using OliveOffice Premium, the app simply crashes (if that is the correct word for a sudden app closure). Even Google Docs complains about the number of 'complex formulae' (to paraphrase their words) when I try to convert it to that format.
I am prepared to pay for an app, but I'm wary of paying the equivalent of $15 for an app that may or may not work for my purposes. The spreadsheet contains no non-standard excel formulae, no formatting, no macros and no array formulae. I have systematically erased all empty cells of data and formatting (just in case) in an attempt to make the file smaller. I have followed all of the suggestions I have been able to find to reduce the file size but, alas, the spreadsheet simply will not be edited in either of these two apps. The only thing that I think could be causing the difficulty is the sheer number of nested index and match formulae, but these are unavoidable. Unfortunately I cannot attach the file here because it does contain sensitive information, however I could strip the spreadsheet of that information if it would be helpful.
My question: is there an office app that would open and allow me to edit such a file? If not, is there an alternative way of using my spreadsheet on my Nexus 7 tablet without having to resort to running a remote desktop?
Many thanks in advance
