It really doesn't matter to me how the batches are going out...I just want an update.zip to be available for download so I can install manually.

OK, on that note it matters to me; so again, does anyone have any idea how they r deciding who gets it and when. Sheeesh

Sorry about that, i was putting in my 2 cents...it wasn't actually a response to your post. As soon as the update.zip is available, anyone can upgrade without having to potentially wait for days.

no prob! no offense taken, hope none was given. personally i tried the rooting and updating on my own and everyone is so googlely and gigglely for it however i must be too slow to get it cuz my droid started buggin out.

Yeah. Rooting doesn't work out well for some people. I personally was lucky enough to not have any issues. Using an update.zip for an official rom update is quick, easy, and pretty hard to mess up. Not nearly as involved or as scary as rooting.

Lol you say updating with a zip is pretty hard to screw up but rooting is scary? Uh hello rooting is running an update.zip that puts su on your phone.

Right, but my point was with an official update.zip, you put it on the sd card, boot into the maintenance screen, click on the update, and it installs. There's no cooked software, no potential to mess anything up, no danger to system files, nothing. I dont think rooting is scary, but updating with an official .zip should be much less intimidating to most people compared to rooting and installing a custom rom.

If only 1000 are getting this batch (at 9AM) and there is millions of Droids in the US, you really are lucky if you get it this morning.;)

Willy Droid???

Willy Wonka.......all over again not a golden ticket but an updated Droid....
