I think everyone is getting to caught up on this 2.1 as being something really out of this world. I have downloaded the Cynogen Rom and to be quite honest, it's very good but not mind blowing stuff. The expectations are a bit unreal right now for those of us who have Droids. At the end of the day, the Motorola Droid with the stock 2.01 is just fine. In fact, I went back to the stock ROM because I just don't see a need right now to be using a customized rom. If 2.1 were to never come out, I wouldn't really care because like I said, it's not mind blowing stuff. Animated wallpaper gets old and the 3D launcher is okay, other then that, the speed difference is so minimal that 99% of users could never tell the difference.

So Peace out my friends.

Does not matter, if Apple says your iPad is guaranteed to be delivered on April 3rd (Saturday) and for some reason, Fedex screws up with delivery, who is the customer going to assume is responsible? Apple, not fedex, because it was there choice to use that distribution vendor

I agree with you to a point. Yes moto and verizon could have used different vendors, but you dont know if there is going to be an issue until it's too late. It's not moto's fault that their vendor can't get their $hit together. Still, regardless of who is to blame, it doesn't help us any.

i never got up in arms with those who were speculating when 2.1 was going to drop all of those who for the past month or so on the forms o (oh it's gota drop next weekend because it's spring ) give me a break just do what you say your going to do then you dont have any backlashes

^^^^^This.

The Droid is still an excellent piece of machinery. FOlks, the sky is not falling, and 2.1 is not the savior of Android.

The Android 2.1 upgrade for DROID by Motorola is being deployed to a small number of Verizon Wireless test users tomorrow afternoon. It is expected that the broader phased rollout to all DROID users will begin shortly thereafter—we will keep you posted. A list of enhancements included in the upgrade is available here.....

Ok ok everyone. We are all miffed. If you are miffed, please feel free to share.

If you aren't, don't try to moderate the group.

Lets all get along :)

Forgot to mention that I think the problem with these updates is that once a rumor starts, it takes off like a wildfire. Us hardcore techy phone nerds have to have the latest and greatest. I would suggest just enjoying what you have at the moment because if you don't, you are missing out on a great device. In summary, the Droid is so good at what it does, we have becomed bored and our thirst for any kind of leak is addictive.

Motorola posted about 20 hours ago saying on twitter:
Just as a reminder, VZW randomly selects users for Droid 2.1 upgrade tomorrow for testing. All goes well and rollout happens soon after.

You're dead on.. We're bloodthirsty(especially those of us that thought we were getting flash when the device dropped). I love my droid, and I just want to love it more with 2.1 . My question is through all this, where's the official word from Moto?

Both of those just say 'testing'. Not that it's a general public test or a release. It's entirely possible that the 1000 were internal pushes. Push didn't work, rollout cancelled. Easy as that. There was never an official announcement of a public rollout...

Agreed. I've got my 3d Gallery (really only wanted Picasa integration) and 5 home screens (news/weather app is pretty cool, too). Everything else is just shiny gravy... so why sweat 2.1?

Oh well. Might be tempted to throw on clockwork and try cyanogenmod now....

Yes, if thats what will hold you over. As I said earlier, 2.1 with Cynogen is not mind blowing at all, I can't stress that enough. In fact, you will be disappointed....my opinion. I would suggest that instead of wasting the time to root it, go out and have a few beers instead. It's much more productive. LOL

hurry up and gimme that update give me that **** ......what if it was you waiting for the post on the wall ?....u know u would not be happy waiting this loooong!!........ lol sorry i am bored now

Poor Moto...I feel bad about the huge giant s##t storm that will be hitting their twitter and Facebook when the news of the delay hits.
