Official Cyanogen 6.0+ Thread

Well, the ringer works fine on stock rom. It's a shame, as things are back to being sluggish, as most of my larger apps cant be moved to the SD card.

Someone mentioned earlier that 6.1.1 is not compatible with some evo hardware. How do I check my phone's hardware version?

To fix your ringtone, mess with the sound settings and audio settings in cyanogen settings.

its not a cyanogen bug, its a indivdual user bug. Try a wipe and re-flash.
This time DO NOT restore with titanium backup, but use app brain to sync your apps and restore them.

A while ago, I used Unrevoked to root my phone (Evo), and much later, I flashed to Cyanogen. It doesn't seem to be a problem. I've thinking about doing it with another Evo, but I read here and there that I shouldn't do it that way. I'm sure it's already been discussed on this giant thread, but can anyone tell me why? Looking forward to Wimax!

Settings, About Phone, Hardware

And I think it's 004 that is not supported.

There's no reference to Hardware on my phone. The related menu tree is a follows: settings, about phone, [status, battery use, legal information, system tutuorial, model number, android version, baseband version, kernel version, mod version, build number]

The closet reference to Hardware that I can see is Build Number, which in my case is FRG83. Would this be the Hardware eqivalent you're referring to?

By wipe, are you referring to a factory reset, or re-partition followed by data and cache wipe? I did the latter, and excluded a titanium backup restoration. Got all my apps, etc. back using app brain.

My ringtone returned to working order, but that only lasted for a day. Now, the phone will vibrate for an incoming call, but won't ring. I've tried different ring tones, to that didn't work either. I did the plain-vanilla CM6.1.1 flash, without applying any kernels.

I'm curious to know whether it'll be worth my while to do a factory reset this time, and then reflash CM6.1.1.

Im saying enter recovery, wipe data-cache-dalvik, and flash the rom again. Do NOT restore with titanium at all.

After what seemed like an eternity of trial and error steps, I finally figured out the issue affecting my mute phone ringer. It had nothing to do with flashing or data-wipes. Rather it was rogue application.

I noticed that as the phone rang, the status bar would flash with the icon of a speaker with an x over it. It occurred to me that perhaps some phone-related app might be interfering with, or trapping calls. So, through the process of elimination, I removed all my phone-related apps, and then reflashed. The app that consistently blocked my ringtone was an app called Privacy Manager.

My other phone-related apps have since been reinstalled with no issues. But I'm happy to report that my ringtone issue has now been permanently (crossing my fingers) fixed by removing Privacy Manager from my phone.
