[Official] CyanogenMod 7 discussion

I'm on the new radios and flashed them when I was on CM7. I haven't notice anything in my area but that doesn't mean you won't.

I use Amon_RA to flash it. To flash put it on the sd and install from sd. Flash it and it will do some things and the menu will pop up and it will say to reboot. Do so and then give like 7 mins and the menu will pop back up and reboot. That is it. Never pull the battery when updating the radios. That would be a good way to brick your phone.

i want to flash the new radios, cant find them though -.-

also has anyone found another way to make your top bar transparent? there was a way but its only for 2.3.3 :( on on nightly 92

hopefully after 223 pages there's still someone willing to help a noob out. i temp rooted using z4, downloaded titanium and backed up all my apps. I then rooted using the stickied method, so i was on the sprint lover's rom. i restored my apps using titanium backup and backed up my rom using rom manager. then, i downloaded cm7 and loaded it using rom manager. however, i didn't reset my system back to factory settings before doing so, and now i'm stuck on the cm7 boot screen (and removing the battery doesn't help, as is probably expected). so, am i screwed? can i re-load my sprint lover's rom? any help will be appreciated. thanks.

You could reboot into recovery and restore your Sprint Lover's Nandroid backup (assuming you made one). Otherwise, once in recovery you could wipe cache/dalvik/user data and reflash either CM7 or Sprint Lovers.

I have never used Rom Manager for flashing, but you should not be screwed if you can get into recovery and do everything manually.

I flash it on top of cm7? I'm on nightly 92
Yes. It seems as if people are having are having some trouble flashing it on clockwork. So I would use Amon if you're not on it.

Also, when you flash it, it will do its thing then ask to reboot. Do so and then it will go about installing and then you'll reboot for the final time.

Yeah I'm on clockwork, is it not working or something?

is there a way to have CM7, and have evdo roaming?

i tried the XDA mod and cant get it to work from stock rom without have roaming only or sprint only. what i want is to use my roaming toggle and have 3g roaming if needed

Hey guys, I'm currently running stock Froyo on my Evo, but it is rooted. (unrevoked) I'm contemplating a move to CM7 but have 2 questions for you:

1. I realize that CM7 is based on gingerbread, but now that GB has been officially released for the Evo should I wait a bit before trying to load CM7? In other words, are there some things in the official release that the cyanogenmod team will want to pull into CM7? (is it a newer build of GB for example?)

2. I recall that one of the "issues" with CM7 on the Evo is GPS. Has that been resolved? I've been reading through many pages of this thread but I can't seem to find much on it anymore. I'm hoping that means it's no longer an issue...

Thanks!

I have been running CM7 for several months now and I love it. Biggest thing for me is the improvement in battery life.

But for what you asked CM7 is actually working on GB 2.3.4 while the official release is 2.3.3 so CM7 will actually be more advanced.

There is a fix for the GPS bug which is super easy. Since doing the fix I have had no problems with my GPS.

As an added bonus my Netflix still works, while it is broken with the official release.

I would consider getting ROM Manager Premium before doing any flashing though. It really simplifies things. It will be $5 well spent.

Thanks for the info! Using Rom Manager is optional correct? I mean, I can do everything I need to from the clockwork recovery right? Is Rom Manager just a graphical "frontend" for the recovery? Thanks again!

Sorta. ROM manager is optional, but it allows you to download roms, flash gapps and do backups. It just simplifies the whole process. Also it can keep your recovery up to date.

I would contend that ROM Manager confuses the process about what's actually going on when you make, restore, and manage backups, as well as flashing ROMs and packages. Basically, sooner or later you'll have to boot into recovery and learn to do it manually when ROM Manager or CWM fails, so I'd just recommend flashing Amon_RA recovery from ROM Manager instead of CWM and ditching the app completely.

I downloaded Synergy, it said it installed, I reboot and nothing? any help would be great.
Just a question (Not belittling or anything), but did you select it from the theme chooser first after you downloaded it?

Just the way you said how it happen it makes it sound like you didn't select it first from the theme chooser.
