[Official] CyanogenMod 7 discussion

It's great so far.. Haven't ran into any problems yet. I'm glad this is out because things were very quiet on here. Can't wait to get CM7 on my EVO 3D next.

I downloaded it this morning but I been so busy today with work that I'm just now installing it. Hope everything runs smooth. Seems like I usually have better luck with nightlies then RCs. Fingers crossed. :)

That and a lot of people have made the jump to the 3D and have been planning it for a while.

Or too the Nexus S 4G. ;)

Im tired of waiting and hoping for root methods and dealing with new ways to root. Im a nexus guy from now on.

Anyone having issues with titanium backup after moving to the latest RC1? It says they have all been restored when in fact nothing has been restored...Any ideas? If it matters most of my apps were moved to the sd card using SuperBox Pro.

I thought we were suppose to have it as well. Not sure what happen with it. I notice it yesterday when the wife wanted to video chat and I didn't have the option.

Found the answer. Looks likes they did away with it because it wasn't compatible with all phones.

So what's up with the 2.3.4 GApps?

**(Please note, YMMV with all of the following information. Nandroid is your friend!)**

This is a tricky one. The problem here is that Google, unlike what they've done for every previous update to the G1, Nexus One, Nexus S, etc., decided to compile the Talk2.apk and libtalk_jni.so to be compatible only with the neon board, and ARM v7 (aka, the Nexus S), rather than every board, the actual Gingerbread API's, and ARM v6 and Tegra as well. So here's where this leaves us:

20110613: This package is designed for Android 2.3.4, and will not work on 2.3.3. It contains all of the applications updated for 2.3.4, but does not include the new Google Talk with video chat due to there being no compatible library available for non-ARM7 and non-neon board devices, from Google or another OEM. This package should work on all 2.3.4 ROMs, and has the latest Android Market update in it, which includes in-app purchase support. This package is listed in the above table, ROM Manager, and latest/7/universal. It should be used with ROMs such as CyanogenMod 7.1.0 (though at the time that I'm updating this, 20110307 is still listed in the ROM Manager manifest for the CyanogenMod Nightlies).
