[Official] CyanogenMod 7 discussion

Flash the 1.3 Gtalk zip from Deck's thread at XDA, I have working video chat on 7.1 RC. Flash 20110613 Gapps, then 1.3 Gtalk.

Also, I upgraded by just wiping cache & dalvik before flashing. You can go to 2.3.4 from 2.3.3 with just a cache wipe, but you can't go back to 2.3.3 without a full wipe.

After going to CM7.0.3.1 all of my text messages are coming through Google Voice and not Handcent. But I can still send messages through Handcent. Even after restoring the previous CM7 it is still happening. If I uninstall Google Voice I don't receive texts period. Anyone else have this problem???

Anyone having issues with rebooting while using navigation? I tried it out and it stayed locked on me the whole time. The trip was only 10 miles or so, but around 7 miles into it, it rebooted. Thought it might be one of those things. So on the way home used it again and it rebooted about a 1/4 mile from the house...

Just seeing if anyone else is having this.

Same here. This is a pretty major issue. I text a ton for work and Google Voice is horrible. I wonder if it has anything to do with the Sprint/GV integration?

When I try to flash CyanogenMod 7 (I've tried multiple versions, stable and release candidate) with ROM manager it stays on the boot animation with the circling arrow and wont load. Can anyone help me out?

How much time have you waited on the CM7 boot animation? Existing ROM? Are you wiping data, cache, etc, some or none?

Sorry for the lack of details I just rooted yesterday for the first time. I was running sprintlovers ROM from the beginning and when I tried CyanogenMod through ROM manager I was only wiping the dalvik cache. At that point I would be stuck on the animation and wait 5 to 10 min and it was still stuck. When I wiped all data and cache before flashing though it worked.

Now my only issue is trying to find a version of CyanogenMod 7 that has the mouse cursor built in.

I can share some info I learned with the CM7 SMS receiving bug. It started happening to me around CM7 nightly 93, and through all nightlies until 111, as well as the latest stable. Fresh (wiping all partitions) installing did not help, but I restored and flashed a few Sense ROMs and they worked perfectly. I would received 100% of the texts I sent from another phone. CM7 would never received over 75%, and usually much worse. Even fresh CMn102 without Google Voice did terribly.

Since I refuse to use Sense until they give it a proper bluetooth stack (for Wii Remote), I decided to try out MIUI, and it solved my SMS problem. I've never missed a single text after a week. I wish I could've stayed with Cyanogenmod but not until that SMS bug is fixed. Even XDA has no idea what to do, but a lot of people don't have the bug... only a select few. It's strange and no one can really figure out the cause yet.

Any time you switch roms you need to do a full wipe, data & both cache.

So just for conversation, does anyone know on any lastest or greatest stuff the cyangenmod team might be working on with any future releases?

Thanks for the info. I've been thinking about giving MIUI another try anyway.

First off, allow me to say that the official Google.com Android help threads are AWFUL. I'm so glad there are forums like XDA and Android Central.

OK, now that is out of the way, I was able to get handcent to work on my phone again following these instructions:

Double-check your settings at GV website (via computer, not phone):

Settings | Phones | Edit | Receive SMS on this phone | SELECT

If that's already selected, confirm that Handcent can receive SMS sent directly to your phone (without Google Voice). If it cannot, your issue is with Handcent, not Google Voice.

I'm still going to check out MIUI, the new lockscreens are nuts!

This may be answered, but I recently flashed to the newest version (i believe) of CM7 and my wifi is incredibly crappy, and Even with full signal, inches from the router (in multiple homes, I've tested) the wifi just is junk. Trying to do anything I get messages about conectivity, and I have tried multiple reboots, toggling Airplane mode, toggling wifi, you name it. Is there a flash/fix for this?

Issues occur when downloading anything requiring WIFI (Slacker Radio, Amazon Appstore, Stuff from forums, images, texts with lots of pics, Emails with pics)

It's driving me crazy.
Thanks

Baseband Version

I'm having the same issue, only I also have poor 3G and GPS signals as well (4G seems unaffected somehow). Is this a radio issue?

I was able to fix the wifi issue by flashing godmode kernel found on xda... and if you are using the same radio as the previous post, there is a newer radio out there I believe
