[Official] CyanogenMod 7 discussion

Ah, thanks. I guess I'll downgrade, then, although that seems silly... LOL. I'll post back with my results.

The radios won't flash because I'm using Clockwork Recovery version 3.0.0.5 which does not support the Amend scripting language. See here.

At least that's my assumption.

I can't use a different recovery because CM7 requires that recovery and Rom Manager seems to believe that Clockwork Recovery v2.6.0.1 is the current version now so I can't flash an alternative and then kick back.

I use AmonRa 2.2.1 and can flash CM7.

CM7 only requires the newer clockwork for a few choice phones, of which the evo is not one of them.

To switch back to the latest clockwork, scroll to the bottom of rom manager and hit all clockworkmod recoveries and you can flash it.

Rom Manager breaks my Recovery whenever I try to flash 2.6.0.1... Looks like I'm giving AR a try...

Amon Ra got me the radios. Now I'm back on GB and it appears that I've got Wi Fi, though the signal seems REALLY weak. I'll have to keep playing with things.

At least it's a step in the right direction...

ClockworkMod 2.6.0.1 is the "latest" version as it was released after 3.0.0.5, it supports both scripting types and includes a WiMax backup.

If you're having trouble flashing it via rom manager, try it a few times, I've been there before. Or if you want I've prepared a PC36IMG.zip: PC36IMG.zip that you can flash with bootloader that will install clockworkmod 2.6.0.1 (as long as you're s-off).

Wouldn't I have to be S-off to be flashing all of these recoveries and ROMs and whatnot? How can I verify? I have the Engineering HBOOT (0.76, I believe)...

I notice that if I don't wipe data and catche before upgrading to the next build I get constant forcecloses of the ADW launcher.. has anyone else experienced this? Do u recommend me trying to use a different launcher because it is a pain to to wipe data between each build and have to set everything up the way I like it again

Doing the full wipe is definitely a pain. For the last two nightlies, I've only wiped cache and Dalvik cache, not data, and everything has worked just fine, no force closes and everything looks and works exactly as it was before flashing the new version, no setup required. This makes each nightly update MUCH less painful.

You can't do this from ROM manager, you need to work directly in recovery. I use ROM manager to download the latest zip, but abort before doing the actual install. I reboot to recovery, then:

1. main menu: wipe cache
2. main menu: advanced: wipe dalvik cache
3. main menu: install zip from sdcard:choose zip from sdcard
and navigate to the ROM. It's kind of buried:
/clockworkmod/download/mirror.teamdouch.net/get/supersonic/*.zip

That's actually what I did but it still force closed on me.. Are u using the ADW launcher??

Have you tried just clearing ADW's data? though that's still a PIA cause you'll have to reset your screens.

Personally I use LP.

The latest nightly seems decent.

The latest nightly runs great. CyanogenMod Settings are more organized now. Build 8 is based off Android 2.3.2. Yeah they are fast right lol. So no SMS bug ;-) Also has the T-Mobile Theme engine. Have no idea what it does or how to use it. (It requires you to use the default ADW launcher installed with CM7 for right now).

Whats the big diff between build 7 and 8

I noticed that Car Home doesn't work... Downloading it from the market solves the problem.

I thought Build 8 fixed my FC w/ Vliingo but I was wrong.

Also, my battery life SUCKS but it has sucked for a long time... I'm re-calibrating my battery data but what's everyone getting battery-wise?

Do alot of you guys suggest getting CM7? Cause i like the ROM im running now but CM7 seems to be great from all the things you guys are saying about it.
