[Official] CyanogenMod 7 discussion

First of all dumpedduce, the screen name is awsome, second of all, I am thinking igotsanevo4g's advice is the way to go. I had the same issue, flashed the latest nightly after clearing cache and dalvik, then no more boot hangs.

Use someone else's phone to call yourself.

I think you can always call your own number from your phone for old-school voicemail. Not exactly sure how gv integration works with that, but I'd imagine it's the same. If someone calls and you don't answer, just call your voicemail and see if they left a message.

Or, if using gv for everything, log into voice.google.com on a browser to see voicemails.

If you just install the ROM then you have to change the voicemail number. It should show #86 or something similar to that. Just put your number in and you're good.

I believe I figured out my issue, which was I accidently moved the home launcher to the SD card. So far no trouble since I took it back off.

CM7 on my Wife's Evo is having all kinds of odd issues. I'm thinking about trying Amon RA recovery and wiping that way. I wiped with CWR before.

I can wipe dalvik cache and it'll rebuild correct? E.g. I can wipe it and not reflash? I'll probably end up reflashing but just curious.

I would wipe the cache and the dalvik cache to see if that helps. Usually it does the trick. You don't have to reflash the rom by just wipe those.

I used Amon RA to flash the latest stable CM 7 and Tiamat (No SBC) and was experiencing one bar of 1x coverage (No 3G) and poor WiMax as well. I heard that nightly #81 has better coverage, so I'm gonna try that one out. I have updated radios, so I know that's not the problem...

I have been a long time user of Setcpu and really have no complaints but now that most of the kernels coming out having different profiles built into them like, sceen turning off and so on, do you think its better to just use the performance setting thats built into CM7? Do you think it would run better than Setcpu? Just a thought.

Let us know your experience. I've been having similar issues with the last stable release, and am so fed up that I've given up on cm for now.

[ Radios ][ 12-17 ] All EVO Radio, WiMAX, PRI, NV & HBoot versions

You'll have to do some fenagling to get the zips to flash because they're not using the Edify scripting language. Switching to an older (2.x) version of Clockwork Recovery or Amon_Ra Recovery will get the job done.
It seems my 3g is slower than it used to be after installing the latest CM7 (from CM6). Could be my local tower has just gone bad. Also, I have no Wimax in the area to test.

I have been doing some research and I am wondering if I need to update my radios. If I was to update radios with the file above would I just download the zip and run it from recovery?

I recently flashed to CM7 (last stable version) and work/live in an area of Houston that gets great 4G coverage and speeds. After I flashed, etc I ran speed tests and got values that were similiar (slightly better) than stock. I then updated my radios (flashed them fine, but then had to flash back to a sense ROM to be able to update the PRL and then flash back to CM7) and my speeds didn't improve enough to go bonkers.

However, I do have a question as to the CM7 WiMax setting. Everytime I reboot my phone and it turns back on, my WiMax is turned off. I have to go into the settings and turn it back on, and it's been annoying. Is there a setting somewhere that I am not seeing?

Yes just flash it normally, cwm 3.x.x wont work but 2.5 will or amon ra recovery

Ok just flashed those radio ZIPs. Unfortunately no change in 3g speed. Still pretty bad.

Download: 0.62Mbps 0.21 Mbps

I need to remember to test 3g in some different locations.

WiFi blazes at full speed as it should luckily.
