Official Droid X Froyo update thread

Well the second time seemed to work a little.... um... better for me. I believe it installed Froyo, but I can't tell as I can't get past the Droid X eye.

Nevermind, it just went away. (Took several minutes) I have Froyo. At no point did I unroot. I had renamed some of the APKs in the /system/apps folder, and renamed them back after my first failure, but no clue if that is what solved it.

just snapped some indoor shots and it's a huge improvement from before, and the onscreen shutter button helps tremendously.

anyone plan on doing a factory reset after the upgrade? haven't noticed any issues with the upgrade so am going to just leave it as it is.

I keep getting a "check for update not available at this moment. Try again later". What do I need to do? I an 2.1 rooted.

Just downloaded and installed ota 2.3

So far so good. Got it at 12:01. New slide to unlock. Small issue with mail. Overall great.

I'm not rooted, downloaded and installed and all i get is the motorolla M. it has been 20 minutes

Unrooted and update went thru perfect. 2.2 2.3.15en.US version is on.

Now I have to reroot and see if that works.

Droid EYE did take a long time to go away but it did.

WiFi Issues

Completed the update from stock phone and I cant keep the phone connected to WiFi. Same network I am doing this post from, and same network that worked on 2.1. Also, when WiFi boots it does not connect to 3G. Anyone else with the issue? Doing a reset now.

Update went smooth here, some new looks on the locked screen and swype KB - I think I like it.

I can confirm that the Droid2 root method works for rooting this OTA. I just tried it myself and it works.

screwed my phone up.

Was left unattended while installing, when i come back it was stuck on the motorolla M symbol. nothing else, noticed the slide tab vibrated when i touched that area, unlocked the phone, placed a call, and still M, so I think it loaded froyo but some video failure occured.

Note:
I was on the 2.1 after a 2.2 leak downgrade and this happened when I tried the leaked versions but on the first one I was able to get into recovery and clear cache and restore and it worked, this time I cant even do that.

Rooted before, install went fine

Having problems with new Gmail though. Freezing on me. I haven't gotten into the app yet, only a black screen. Anyone else?
**EDIT** Phone is slow as hell, and I'm about to do my first battery pull ever. Screen hasn't responded for 3 minutes.

Whose idea was it to rush and download this??

Updated from 2.1 stock..never rooted. new gmail was updated and all. now i have no connection for email gmail or the browser. also facebook status update widget now is bigger and ugly. did bat pull twice..still not connection. pls help

If you guys hold off on the 2.2 OTA, ill have a pre-rooted .zip to install (will work no matter what version your on )

I could not get a connection either, did factory reset, working through it now, hopefully this does it.

Going through initial setup, its painfully slow, and when I add my secondary GMail accounts (2 extra) it wont let me sync email or contacts....
