I fully agree with what you're saying. Some people may not remember the original plan and think the current one is fine. However, it's not what was promised AND they are going back on their promises just like Verizon.
"Zero bullsh*t"? I think they need to increase that counter now.
Maybe Legere should re-watch this video.

Select phones eligible for JOD, not we'll randomly select phones and subject them to a down payment.

If you want to keep drinking the Kool aid, I guess that's great. There were enough ticked off people when they tried this with the Note 7 that they reversed course after 2 days of pre-orders.

Exactly. When we first went to JOD (and T-mobile), the select phones were the S6, S6 edge, Note 5, LG G4 and the iPhones IIRC.
That meant the program was for their bigger flagship phones, not their cheaper ones.
Now, they have JOD for almost all phones and are changing the rules on their "upgraded" flagships. The S6 edge was more than the S6, but no down payment needed, just a higher monthly payment.
However, they did offer a 64gb model of the Note 5 for $100 down. At that time I said it was a ridiculous notion.
That's all the S8+ should be.

I thought about it for a while and then caved in and ordered a black s8+ direct from Samsung in the UK.

I learnt from last time though and ordered the case separately as that delayed my S7 edge by about 3 weeks.

Anyone know somewhere in the UK that has them on display? I'd love to take a look.

I'm not sure if the + will be too big but I just couldn't resist the idea of going back to a 6 inch screen after downsizing from a note 4 to an s7e

I went into T-Mobile yesterday to preorder the 8+ and he had the 8 and 8+ on the counter in front of him. I held them and could hardly believe how small a frame the + had; coming from a IPhone 7+.
It's a lot more screen we will be getting from a still easily held device.

I would recommend preordering from your phone carrier rather than from Samsung. I preordered my Note7 from Samsung's website and my phone didn't get shipped until about 2 weeks after the release date! It seems that manufacturers want to make sure that their supply to their distributors is taken care of first before taking care of individuals.

For everyone who's ordered from samsung's website, did you click the "free activation" button when ordering, or did you skip this? I already have tmobile service obviously and simply just switching to a new device. As always I just need to pop in my simcard from my S7 Edge, right? Some people on here said they clicked the option and some said they left it blank since they're not activating a new line.

I left it blank. I don't need them activating anything for me.

I just pre-ordered the S8+ in grey from Verizon. I was considering leaving it for another year since I really like my gold S7 edge, but after examining my husbands Note 5, I'm starting to like the bigger screen size in my old age. It's too bad Verizon isn't offering the gold version, but the grey looks pretty neat. Also sucks that we have to wait 3 weeks for it, hoping the 21st comes sooner rather than later.

I did my pre-order yesterday for S8+, black, on tmobile and got a dates for either 04/20 or 4/21. I don't mind paying the $130 up front because my JOD is the version where my phone has to be halfway paid off in order to jump again.
My wife's line however gets two jumps a year no matter what. So I'm going to wait before I get hers.

That's JUMP!, not JUMP On Demand.
In the case of JUMP, it isn't a bad deal to put $130 down since you'll be paying it anyways.

so I pre-ordered my S8 the day pre orders opened, I planned on turning in my mint condition S7 Edge to Sprint and start a new lease, well what do you know, this morning I dropped the S7 today and cracked the screen!!! I've owned A LOT of phones over the years, never once cracked a screen until today, I am in shock right now. called a few places, $400 for screen replacement, I owe $495 on it, may as well just pay it off

I find it funny that the Best Buy rep who was doing my preorder was trying to convince me not to get it. He was saying the edges are bad and the iPhone 7 Plus was much better and it may blow up. He also said its the same phone as the S7. This guy obviously doesnt not know what he is talking about and why would you try and change what I want to order lol too funny
