so assuming it does happen to ship on april 9th or whatever, that would only really apply to the samsung.com orders not the carrier/bestbuy/etc orders right?

I ordered from Samsung this time. So there is hope next week I might have it?!!!!!! When do I need to start watching obsessively?

anyone know how easy/hard cancellations are for Samsung.com orders? or how about returns? curious... thinking about ordering from them but want to be able to return or cancel if needed

I pre-ordered the first day through best buy and they charged my card immediately for the taxes. Is that normal? Order just says in progress. This is the first time I've used BB instead of Verizon directly.

TMO charged me for the down payment and taxes. You pay taxes on the total value.

Cancellations shouldn't be an issue but you may have to call to cancel.

I have heard returns incur restocking fee.

Did anyone else get out of having to pay the 120? The girl at Verizon was kind of surprised when the page opened up and showed It wasn't being asked of me....Only the sales tax on the device I had to pay. Which begs the question, Will I still get charged the 120 upon shipment...Or is the verizon rep accurate in some people having it waived.

During my pre-order, the site said I would need to pay $82.20 ($52.20 tax & $30.00 upgrade fee) upon checkout. When I submitted my order, I was only charged the $30.00 upgrade fee. This confused me, but I expect to see the sales tax charge applied when the phone ships.

I was actually charged yesterday for my order from Samsung. *S8 Midnight Black w/ bundle pack* Not sure why they are charging cards without the device being shipped.

that might be Samsung thing. Did you buy it outright or making payments? The US carriers wait to charge when they are printing the labels and shipping

I pre-ordered mine directly through Samsung and purchased it out right, for some reason I hate having the monthly payment added on to my cell phone bill. I honestly don't care if it ships early or not. I had ordered the LG G6 from TMO and got it early and was so disappointed by the phone's camera and bluetooth audio that I returned it only to find out that LG had not released the launch build of the software which may have fixed the issues I was experiencing. So, I'd much rather get a phone that works rather than get it early.

I also had a chance to play with the S8+(midnight black) at Best Buy and it really is a nice phone, the display is really nice, the edges are so much more subtle than the s7 edge. It's a lot easier to hold and it seems like the palm rejection works this time. I didn't have any issues opening apps accidentally with my palm. The fingerprint sensor is not as bad as everyone says, I just held the phone a little bit higher and it was easy to reach. I will say that I did tap the camera lens on occasion when reaching for the fingerprint sensor.
