Only when the low storage warning icon is present. When low on space, voice to text will not work. Tried in both handcent and the google search widget. Once I cleared internal phone memory space and the low storage icon disappeared, I was able to use the mic to enter texts and search terms again. The low storage icon seems to come on around 40mb of space left or so.

Calling Sprint or HTC is a waste of time if your problems started after installing gingerbread. The best solution until Sprint send the update to our phones is to performed a reset of the device. It's really not that hard. In fact in fixed most issues I was having except the infamous "ghost voicemail notification". The work around for this is quite Easy... Tap menu - Tap settings - Tap call - Clear voicemail notification. Trust me - Sprint and HTC are aware of the problems that most phones are experiencing, and are working on fixing the problem asap. (At lleast that's what I've been told)

Calling them to document your specific issues with the update is well worth everyone's time.

More instances of a reported bug means a better chance that they'll prioritize it or add it to the list of bugs to address with the next maintenance update.

well, when i finally get around to downloading this update and im not happy with it, itll give me a reason to root my phone

Issues noticed since update to stock 2.3.3 :

Text - messages time and date off sometimes (sporatic) which makes them come in the wrong order. And no led notification of text messages.

Date/Time - when powering on device (not fastboot, but full shutdown) the clock will show London UK time and temp. for a short time and then switch to correct location and time here in the USA.

Voicemail - mentioned everywhere on board....

Battery - I still see the immediate drop from 100% to 90%...thought this was to be fixed... Still terrible battery life.

Connection Speeds - test via speedtest.net app shows the slowest speeds I have ever experienced....terrible speed after update. Less than half of prior connection speeds on 2.2 software. So slow internet times out on 3g. Horrible performance...

I am not impressed with the testing and quality control at HTC & Sprint for this release. This software has been out for some time and the modifying done by HTC/Sprint seems to have totally screwed up a perfectly good software package by Google. HTC/Sprint need to do less customizing which would resolve many of these issues.

Best advice I can give is to stay away from the Speedtest.net app or site. It has been noted not only in the mobile world but in the networking world that it's a poor site to use for accurate readings. Use Speakeasy.net or the local providers speedtest website. They all usually have their own.

Had my phone replaced so back to froyo for me. The reps in the sprint store said to me they had a lot of people come in with problems from the update. The rep also said they (employees) was suppose to update there phones but because of the update issues they didn't do it.

Has anyone had problems linking profiles? I have tried linking some profiles I have with Google to the same person's Facebook profile like I used to do before the update but even though I click to link them it does not do so

Anyone else experiencing dropped calls in areas where you did not drop calls before. This is after the update.

Other issue I have experienced is the HTC logo screen popping up when memory is short (from what I have read).

I haven't got the annoying phantom voicemail notifications in a while. I hope that is gone for good. Anyone notice it not happenig any more? I was hesisitant to post this and it end up appearing. Gynx myself. Maybe it was some network issue that has been fixed.

aceB, your right i just did a reboot and no voicemail indicator..finally. i also last week did a hard reset and my battery life is soooo much better now. i think i had an app that was draining my battery and the gingerbread update probably fixed any underlying battery drain in stand-by. i'm a very happy evo owner once again. hard reseting wasn't to big of a a deal all i had were a bunch of free crap apps anyway and settin gup exchange and gmail is all i really care about anyway.

-:PLEASE READ:-

Reported Issues

+Sense restarting after exiting some apps. I notice it every time I exit out of playing Plants vs. Zombies.

This is not just a sense issue, I use SPB Shell 3D as well as Launcher Pro and I get the same things happening. Anytime I exit a memory rich app, it has to restart my launcher. I use Fresh Evo 4 and I noticed this on the leaked Gingerbread release and now that it has been updated to Fresh Evo 4.1.1 it still happens. Based on what everyone is saying this is definitely a Gingerbread update issue that I hope they fix very very soon.

Can't connect to computer

I can no longer connect to my computer.

I have the phone set to hard disk. I don't get a notification of anything on either my Evo or computer when I connect the USB since the update. No longer shows up as removable storage in Win7 64. But it does still charge my phone.

Anyone else?
