[Official] Gingerbread Update - Bugs, New Apps, etc.

I found a small bug in the calendar. If I open the calendar app it opens to the current month and darkens the box for the current day. This is correct. Now switch to a different month and view an event or simply select any day of that month. Now hit the back button and the calendar will mistakenly show today's date for the month you are currently viewing, not the current month. I have the latest maintenance update for GB installed.

I have tried my voice to text on SMS and still a not working. Driving 40mph to answer a text from work via voice... not good.. Either case, the EVO 3D is a few days away... 8 am... I hope the voice to SMS works..

I was unable to use voice for Navigation, but then went in a cleared cache, and it started working...

Got the same problem, all is set to GMT+2 but when I try to edit an appointment it shows as GMT-7.
If you have a solution, please share it.

i didn't see this one discussed: If I try to edit any existing exchange calendar items, it shows that the Time zone for the event is EDT while I'm actually in PDT. Any new calender items I add from the device are fine. Any items I add from the PC or OWA via exchange show up as EDT. My PC is correct and this only happened after the GB update.

I deleted the exchange account. And re-added. Problem persists.

Clock/timezone in EVO settings are correct.

Has anyone noticed whether the voice search might be related to whether there is something plugged into the headphone jack? I cleared some caches and it worked. Then it didn't again in the car where I have an aux jack into the sound system for my M35. I unplugged and it seems to work again. Not scientific yet but thinking it may misdirect or shut off the mic?

Nothing to do with that. Now there is no voice to text capabilty while driving on this phone.
May not be a deal breaker for some, but it is for me. Guess will find a phone with android 2.2 that has working voice.

My battery life seems to have gotten worse with the update 4.24.651.1 also my 4G is slower than 3G. McDonough, GA

my battery life has been slashed by 30%. i thought the stock battery was horrible, so i finally broke down a few weeks ago and bought the seidio 3500 extended. it was the best purchase i had ever made ... with very heavy use my phone would go about 18-20 hours. but now that i have GB, it is down to 12 hours, maybe. i even tried the phone reset, which didnt help at all. also got another new 3500 battery to compare, same problem, drainage was the same almost down to the hour. one thing i notice in spareparts is that my sense is loading up a lot, in fact the most among all processes and apps. maybe this is a bug that needs fixing? i know not everyone is experiencing this, but at least some are. this is very disheartening and extremely frustrating.

I get a green circle that shows the number of unread messages. After reading the messages and returning to the home screen the message count is still there. I have to go back into messages then go back out in order for the count to clear. Sometimes I can go out of the home screen to fix this.

Ditto, I was gonna mention this as well but saw your message stating the exact same thing.

Nothing plugged into mine. Doesn't work when I'm in a car and moving.

Since the GB update my phone started to reboot/loop I took it to my Sprint store and they did a manual reset. I contacted SprintCares (should me named SprintCaresless) and all they will do is exchange my phone. I asked (like so many others have and been granted) to move my upgrade from 1 April 2012 to now and get the EVO 3D but, no sell. Will probably get a refurbished one......grrrrrr:'( Oh well, will be reading about all the bugs and problems with the 3D and it will be fixed by the time I am eligable.:p

Anybody havin SMS problems afta 2.3 update?

No problems with SMS here, but I can't send or receive MMS. What exactly is your issue with SMS?

EDIT: I did a factory data wipe last night (I guess that's a hard reset now - the option after holding the volume button and powering on are all different than on 2.2) and am now able to send and receive MMS just fine. Not sure that's the route you need to take with your SMS problems, but syncing with Google and apps like Appbrain and SMS Backup+ are free and indispensable.

Mine had improved with the last update this week, but still nowhere near as good as 2.2. it is working while I drive now, just barely, sometimes. to me it's the background noise that seems to be killing performance

I need some help. I am new to all of this, I have rooted my phone and it is version 2.2 I want to flash my phone and install gingerbread, but every time I try to do it or load a rom it erases all my contacts and all of my apps. Should I indoor and update firmware. Or am I just not doing it right.I use rom manager then I download rom then when it ask for pre installation I check all, backup rom, wipe data and cache and wipe dalvik cache. Also when I download a rom where does it save. Please help thanks

After the gingerbread update, my EVO 4G barely charges in my Seidio car dock. Typically, it just does a trickle charge to retain the same battery percentage. On rare occasion, it very very slowly charges. The charger worked fine before the software update, so I hesitate to blame it on the hardware. Any other Seidio car dock users see the same problem?

I just ran across the camera bug last night. Sometimes after taking just one picture, others after several, the EVO locks up and completely reboots. Unfortunately it makes the camera completely unusable at this point. Aside from this, the only other issue I've run across since the update is the Sense reboot.

Hopefully Sprint/HTC can push out an update before too long to fix some of the issues.
