I think scrolling is smoother than before especially when you slowly scroll up and down with your finger touching the screen (not swiping).

I did the rooted update and it's too soon to tell what major issues may've moved in, but the moment the update was done, I've had a Low On Space notification that I can't seem to uninstall enough stuff to get rid of. I'm a bit over 30 MB free, so what can I do? I've tried rebooting which was supposed to clean temp files and cleared caches for browsers.

Installed the update, having issues with the compass. Both in GPS status and Google maps. Tried a reset a battery pull reboot, and a recalibration of the g sensor. nothing seems to help

anyone else?

What the percentages mean

What I have found is that the power percentages displayed in the stock system are proportional, that is it is a representation of the amount of power the screen is using at that given time in relation to the power being used by the other processes running (apps, other system components, background threads, etc.).

Also, I understand that v2.3.x uses better power management and better reporting, so the sudden increase some are seeing is a better estimation of process power usage (likely your display is still using the same amount of power, but is better reported or the other running processes are better managed and using less power while the display uses the same amount of power; thus the higher %).

Make sense?

What I use when making my apps is PowerTutor to monitor all power usage on my slab. While it is a great tool, it is not officially supported on the EVO, but I love it and highly recommend the app for any and all power monitoring, even if your only watching to make sure you don't have a power hog (and no I am not affiliated with powertutor.org, just find it very useful ).

The Batt level, 3G/4G, Signal Level, etc icons and the stupid "dink" it makes with the volume buttons are from the Shift.

For those receiving low disk space notifications, make sure that all apps that can be moved to the SD card have been moved there.

Menu -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> On SD Card

This will list all applications that could be moved to the SD card. The apps with the green checkboxes have already been moved to the SD card. Those that are not checked off should be moved to the SD card to increase internal phone storage.

I have the voicemail notification issue, but the thing thats pissing me off the most is my sd card keeps unmounting and i cannot get it to stay mounted. Anyone else have this or figured out a workaround?

Not sure if this is because I started using the ADW launcher with the ginger bread theme today or from the update. But has anybody noticed when you receive a call the border of the lock/answer slider is colored red and green.

I also can notice that the battery icon has been changed on the status bar.

I'm noticing bugs with the text selection function in Documents to Go (paid) and in the Dolphin Mini Browser. With Docs2go, when you long press the text selection que appears, but it is empty and will not disappear. With Dolphin Mini, the select text function is completely broken.

I keep getting a message that says Data Call Failure. Error code 67. Unable to establish wireless data connection. Have to hit "dismiss" to clear it and use the phone. Then it pops up again.

since I upgraded to GB...exchange not working anymore...

I tried wipe and reinstall and no go...goes to end and says " failed to connect account. try again later."

Called Sprint and no help there...I need to get rolled back and no where to do that,,,Help !!

Noticed the following changes in Swype after the update.

- When entering information in search boxes, the return key changes to "Search" or "Go"
- New cursor control, when you tap in a field with data, a green pointer comes up where you can drag the cursor to where you want. When you start to drag it a magnifying glass appears to show where the cursor is.
- Hitting the swype key now automatically highlights the word where the cursor is or the word before the cursor and pops up the alternatives.

There may be more but that is what I found so far.

Can't use my EVO after the update. It now won't accept my screen lock password. I have tried removing the battery, There doesn't seem to be a work around. I did notice that it isn't bringing up Bigbuttons keyboard, but rather (I guess) the default keyboard. Perhaps that is the problem, since I entered the password originally with bigbuttons?

Make sure that your keyboard is not adding a space at the end of your password..

New Apps/Features

+Downloads App which looks to be a shortcut more or less to what you have downloaded recently.

+TeleNav GPS Navigation which replaces Sprint Navigation. It offers a standard free service and a paid for $4.99/month.

+When turning off the phone you get the option to Power Off, Airplane Mode and Restart now.

+Turning on the screen now fades in instead of just popping on.

+Pocket Mode under sound settings increases the ring volume when phone is in your pocket or a bag.

+Flip for Speaker sound settings allows you to activate the speaker phone during calls by turning your phone over.

+Group Message feature added under the stock SMS App.

+The ability to enable Animated GIFs within the stock Browser.

+Better Copy/Paste functionality.

+SIP Calling.

+Volume rocker sound for increases/decreases in volume has changed.


Reported Issues

+Profile Widget removed from screen and needs to be added again.

+Shoot Me no longer works after upgrade.

+Netflix has issues loading. Market says it is only compatible with 2.2 for EVO.

+Rogue Voicemail notifications being displayed. To fix this go to Settings > Call > Clear Voicemail Notification. They will come back after restarting the phone and will periodically pop up throughout the day.

+Battery Use shows Display using 70% or more of the battery.

+When you turn off the phone with quick boot, the background zooms out and displays all home pages before shutting off.

+When you turn phone back on the screen comes back on and animation happens then goes to dull brightness instantly. You have to turn the screen off and on again to get it to go back to regular screen brightness. Happens with both Sense and Launcher Pro UI's.

+Pandora app will either play one song and then nothing or there will be a long pause (roughly 10 to 20 seconds) before another starts.

+AIM won't log in.

+Any saved Alarms you had were deleted during the upgrade and will need to be reset.

I had issues with data not wanting to work with mine, the device freezing up, apps not loading, and a really long restart.
I personally didnt give a **** about the apps i had on my phone so i just wiped it and fixed all the issues i had.
