Official Gingerbread Update - bugs

How do you delete then repair bluetooth?

Under menu-> settings -> Wireless and networks -> Bluetooth settings Turn on your Bluetooth, then under Bluetooth devices long press your device, and remove it. Then reconnect. You may have to reset your BT device as well, check the manual for your device on how to do that.

Just curious . . . was your phone rooted at any time before you installed the Gingerbread update?

(this was my 666th post - awesome. hehe.)

Yes I was rooted before upgrading for the sole purpose of reading (not directly modifying) /data/data and to use Titanium Backup. I wanted to get a handle on what apps were causing me to run out of space and there was no other way to do this. When I compared the "Data" and "Cache" sizes listed under any individual apps, I found that 9 times out of 10 the did not accurately/completely represent the amount of storage they consumed in /data/data.

This. SUCKS.
Phone has never been rooted. Got the OTA GB update 2.3.4 - and 80% of my apps just had market icons on them, nothing would open. The applications menu in settings showed files of the apps, but that was all.. it was like they went into limbo. So I re-installed the apps from the Market and Amazon Market, etc... and all was well. I lost some progress in a couple games, but w/e.
A couple days later and I reboot the phone, and now the OTHER 20% of my apps have no icons and will not open. I read on another thread here to unmount and remount the sd card. I do, and now some apps come back and some that I recently reinstalled are gone!
OK - so I go and get ALL my apps back and the way I want them... all is well in the world. About 30 mins ago - my phone just reboots all on its own, and guess what? my apps are all F'ed up again!! This is ridiculous.
Also - the damn Low Space notification will NOT go away no matter how much I delete! When I go to the apps setting menu, the memory log at the bottom shows that I an not even 1/4th of the bar full...
oh - AND - Voice-to-Text is all screwed up too.. I used that feature so often. it was great!
Sigh... stupid updates.
Any suggestions, amigos?:-\

Sounds like Dame95 needs to do a factory reset - just my guess.

On a more positive note, Go Launcher EX used to run sluggishly on Froyo. Now that we're on Gingerbread, Go Launcher EX has run smooooothly for 12 hours now. :) At last, I have a more useful app drawer.

Launcher Pro is still smooth, as usual.

I hope ADW will run well, too. Anyone here use ADW?

I have never had a problem with my phone, never had a problem with the dreaded low storage BS, I have not rooted and run launcherPro Plus. I have waited patiently for the OTA which never came and so earlier this week when the low storage notification showed up and I could not find a way to remove it I downloaded the Gingerbread update and got it done. Lost some apps that I had backed up, no big deal, but the @$!#en low space icon is still there and every time I I get into settings when I exit I have defaulted away from Launcherpro and back to sense, I change the default back to LP and it goes back to Sense the next time I am in any kind of app or settings. Any way of fixing this without uninstalling and reinstalling LP? And the low space, I have deleted apps, all text messages, cleared cache, cleared mail folder, contacts folder....it's still there. Is root the only way to fix this? thanks in advance for any advice on the issues.

Answered my own question on the Launcherpro issue, the old app Home Switcher won't keep the default, got new switcher app and it works now.

You mean you went from Home Switcher for Froyo to the other Home Switcher?

I'm a bit surprised that my copy of Home Switcher for Froyo hasn't caused me a problem.

Glad you got it working.

The Home Switcher for Froyo app that I have used forever would not keep LP as the default, I downloaded Home Manager and it works well. But that low space icon....

Oh, I see. I thought you tried the non-Froyo version of Home Switcher.

The only time I had that low space (memory) issue was after I installed a bad app. Sounds like you're taking about a storage issue, and I can't help there. Sorry.

I like Watchdog - it tells me when an app is hogging the CPU.

The bad app was a Google app - can't remember which. It wasn't any of the most popular, default apps you'd find on a new Droid. Anyway, after uninstalling that one damn app, I never had the problem again.

I received the update and the bugs I got are these...When using my bluetooth and a text msg comes in the bluetooth turns off and the call goes to the phone..When using the speakerphone and a text msg comes through it turns the speakerphone off.I called HTC and they said it was an ongoing problem and they along with Verizon is fixing the problems(yea right) and another OTA update is coming to fix the bugs.

Since the Gingerbread update its like my Incredible has taken "low application data space" chronic.

There is not a day that goes by that it doesn't come up now, and I thought it was bad before Gingerbread!

I have uninstalled apps, "cleared data" in the "manage applications" section, and deleted text messages until my fingers bleed.

The bad thing about it, is that if you don't resolve the error for the day, your gmail, facebook, etc refuses to sync.

A factory reset only solves this issue for me for a few weeks to a month. I guess I am asking for too much memory from this lovely app data partition limitation!
