Official Gingerbread!?!

:-!In other news, guess who just perma-bricked his phone? I DID!
Note to self: Do NOT go mucking about with partition sizes ever. Not sure what happened but I can't boot into Android, recovery or even e-mode.[/QUOTE]

Hmm now Mr.Walton That shines a crack O light. Do you need the other Optimus mailed so you have one? Can help for communication purposes I must say. let me know please.;)

Visual Voicemail may/may not get fixed ever. We won't know until the update actually drops. The source release, while encouraging, means next to nothing as far as core system compatibility goes.

Oh man! I hope you can get it up and running!
So what are you going to do about a phone?
I know of this NEW service where you send them your phone they may be able to un-brick your phone for you...LOL JUST KIDDING. Couldn't resist.
Seriously hope you can get it fixed.

So i dont know if this is a common occurance but I just fired up the lg updater tool for s***s and giggles and it said servers were down for maintenance? Could this mean they are getting ready for an imminent GB push? I could be wrong and knew that if I was you guys could inform me :)

I got the same thing just now but it gets an usupported model when I try to update. I am going to unroot and revert to stock and give it a go. I will update shortly if nobody beats me to it

Oh boy!!! Might about to get interesting!!

EDIT: Not seeing the same here. Says I have latest version. You guys are running CM7? I'm running Shell at the moment, so I wonder if CM7 has something to do with what you are seeing.

I think you are onto something. I realized all the roms I was trying it with were some sort of a CM7 version. I just restored my originally rooted stock nandroid and did a factory reset and basically started fresh and now I am getting that I am using the most up to date version.

Maybe something with CM7 triggered a pending update for our phone and then prompted the fail? I still think this is progress towards an official update to GB since this never used to happen with CM7 whenever I ran the updater tool.

In CM7 when you go menu/settings/about phone....... doesn't it say "unknown" under SW version or baseband or something? That might be triggering it.

i also tried the lg updater tool and get cell phone software up to date.currently on srom

There is NO update available yet. The LG tool does strange things if you are running a CM7 ROM.

Also, the LG tool displays the specific version that is available. If it doesn't display LS670ZVH then ignore it.

reverting to stock will not give you an update. Like Drew clarified, the update available is a bug that gets triggered by CM7. Im reverted to stock right now and im not getting any update.

Why is everyone worried about a stock update anyway? Drew's cm7 surely will still be better IMO than a stock update!
