Official Jelly Bean Update. Thoughts or complaints??

Ok came up with a couple things. If I power down my phone and the sound is off. It reboots with sound on. Never did that before.

When I go to turn the sound back off, it goes to vibrate, off, bounces back to about 3 clicks up then I can slide back to vibrate, off and it will stay there until reboot.

Other thing I'm concerned about is I have had 3 random reboots today. I've probably had 3 since I got this phone in May. My first Nexus was which I had all of a week started rebooting more and more until it crashed. It could just be an app not playing nice with Jelly Bean.

Lastly the game Mini Motor has a slight hesitation now if there's a lot of action which I didn't notice before.

Personally my notification light won't go off and I'm not sure why. I pulled the battery with no luck. Strangly as soon as I put the battery in the phone the light comes on. I don't even have to turn the phone on. And it won't go off. Started about a day after doing the update.

Okay so you got the official update. So what do you think so far?

Good, bad, broken? Let's here your thoughts....

Loving it! Wasn't sure Jelly Bean would be that much of an improvement over ICS. But man it sure is! =)

Wow, you guys sure have had a different experience than I have. I got the OTA on my Sprint Galaxy Nexus last night. I was excited at the time, but since there has been nothing but frustration. Aside from slightly larger icons/text, and the settings button in the notification area, I see ZERO advantage to JB over ICS. I seems almost the same, EXCEPT that my phone is now wonky as hell. My swipe keyboard seems to randomly vanish, voice input doesn't always work now, EVERYTHING is slower. Browsers slower to launch, Apex launcher MUCH slower, programs randomly crashing. Battery life is no better, maybe slightly worse. Under ICS everything just worked. I felt no need to root my phone or mess in any way with the perfectly awesome stock experience. But now, I can't stand this piece of crap, and I don't understand why I seem to be the only one and everyone else is going Oooh ahhh, faster, better.

If anyone has any ideas what I should do to make JB work well before I root this thing and figure out how to flash back to ICS, I'd love to hear.

Thanks!

I hate to say it, but a factory reset might be the fix you need. Just make sure to backup your pics and contacts before hand. Hope that helps. :)

A couple of "bugs" that I've found. One, Pandora won't stream over 3G. I've contacted their support and they said they are aware of some incompatibilities with various devices/OSs, so hopefully they will be getting a fix on that soon. Another minor annoyance is with the Facebook app. If I take a photo, and immediately share to Facebook it works as expected. Also, if I want to share a photo from my gallery to Facebook it works fine, as long as it's locally stored on my phone (i.e. Camera). When I attempt to share a photo from my online gallery, such as Instant Uploads in Picasa, it force closes Facebook. Every other sharing option works fine (including Friendcaster, which is my workaround for this issue). Overall, though, I LOVE Jellybean and my Nexus!

Did anyone running leaked JB builds go back to stock to get the official JB? If so, I was it worth the effort to do so? Did you notice a definite difference with butter and general performance?

I was running a custom JB ROM and returned to stock to get the update as I prefer the OE carrier supplied version.
For the most part, it is very similar. I have not noticed much of a difference.
I just like to rock the official current OS. It is the way I roll.

Mav.

I can't seem to download the latest Chrome update via Wifi. 3G barely works but works. Not wifi. Get this error:

Bugs.... Eww....

I don't know if you have but try to update the sprint system update stuff and then reboot just to make sure, because that fixed my downloading pictures and that problem for me. Hope I helped.

I did. I haven't noticed any difference. I actually acquired an issue in my notification light not turning off after getting the official update.

I got the same error. I rebooted and then Chrome was able to update.

I've noticed that since I got the update my nexus seems to have a lot of trouble sending SMS messages. I'll have full coverage in an area where, when I had ICS yesterday, it could fire off messages like it was nothing and now it will hardly even try before it decides the message is undeliverable. I've tried with both the stock SMS app and Go SMS Pro and neither one was able to reliably get messages out. Anybody else experiencing issues like this?

I'm running paranoidandroid 1.992 and I kinda want to just backup and flash back to stock so I can try this out but I dont know. Should I? It can't hurt lol

I have same problem its because it doesn't include a 10 digit phone number even though the contacts are saved with the area codes very annoying. Anybody know what's going on with this?

Noticed another issue. I've been playing, a lot of mini motor, if I get a text (via go sms) I have a small preview screen that pops up with the message and it will pause the game. When I close the message and start playing the game it has horrible screen tearing. This never happened on ICS. Also as I mentioned before the game itself now suffers from choppy play if there's more then 2 cars bunched up, also no issue with it on ICS.

It could be the game just needs an update to play nice with JB. I have not tried any other games in the few days I've been running JB. Surfing the net, texts, social networking apps, email, phone calls, and just the overall use of the phone has been great. Still thinking the battery life isn't as good and I just don't understand why as it sounds like Google focused on it, in reading the update list.

Anyone using Juice Defender or other similar apps with great success? I have to swap the battery up to 3 times at work. Combo of bad 3g signal there and playing with the phone a bit too much after the update.

Regarding swype, try uninstalling and reinstalling it. I was using an ASOP based JB ROM and there was a problem where preloaded swype would crash, but if you uninstalled and reinstalled it would work. Don't know if it's the same thing, but it's worth a try.
