Official Netflix

I want to try and push it from shell, but it is a read only system file and I'm not so up on my chmod.

I have modified my build.prop but am unable to save. My phone is rooted, but running stock so I can't get the SU to work in ES File Explorer. I also have tried File Expert, which I am able to give SU access. But I can't get it to edit the file.

Use root explorer

Far be it for me to ever want to watch a movie or TV show on a tiny phone screen. I would like to be able to manipulate my queue and such while I'm bored on downtime at work. I think I will wait.

The green bar is due to HD content being streamed..
The same happends while on "some" HD vids in the Youtube app..
This is due to a codec with in the app our phone I do beleave..

Happy you all got it working none the less..
I may edit the first post soon with the working version..

There has been an app in the market for manipulating your Netflix queue from your phone for months. No hacks or modded build.prop required.

Going to update the .apk on the first post in a few..
Hold tight for a bit~

EDIT: Modified build posted

when i try to install the modified build through astro it says this. PARSE ERROR: There is a problem parsing the package. Any IDEAS?

Heres what I have learned while I messed with this for 3 days before getting it to work. To start with dont sideload the .apk unless ur using the modified one from xda. If u are doing the modified build.prop method, use ROOT Explorer to overwrite ur stock build.prop (I used my PC to edit the build.prop itself) and dont forget backup/save ur stock build.prop. After u do the modification and did a hard reboot goto the market and download the Netflix app. If u have tried and failed before now goto netflix.com and login to ur account and deactivate devices listed under Your Account & Help\Manage Netflix ready devices and computers. If u try and fail and it has ur device in the list even if u try again with the correct setup u will fail until u deactivate the failed device. I choose to use the modified .apk so I wouldnt run into the issue others have with other things not working with the modified build.prop. Also the green line is in all other ROMs I tried but AOSP 4/27 release. I hope this helps someone having trouble or helps someone avoid any issues.

No reason to modify anything (phone or.apk) with the new build I have posted on the first post..
Just download and run..

The green line (as I said before) is from HD content.. If the vids could be played in standard definition the color correction would not be an issue..
It's more likely a hardware issue the way I see it..

Awesome, that's what we've all been waiting for! Thanks much for the modified version. It's working fine on my Optimus V with not needing to change the build.prop. Still have the green bar though. Seems like the people running the aospCMod are having no issues with the green bar. Could that certain ROM be using more of the phones hardware or something?

Downloaded the modified one. Logged in and watching American Dad right now. Getting the bar at the top though, colors are a little off but overall im happy.

So if the OV can handle Netflix streaming video, which is generally high quality--
can it handle flash video? Is this really a hardware limitation?

It cannot handle flash due to the processor, Adobe has no plans to support our processor, since it is being replaced in the development road map with more advanced processors.

Flash isnt functional on the Optimus because Flash is hard coded for a minimum resolution of 640x480 and anything that doesnt support that minimum cant run Flash. Flash runs fine on old 333mhz Pentium and 486DX at 66mhz so Flash doesnt have issues running on old slow CPU it has a required resolution minimum. The fact that Adobe has system profiles as minimums only means they dont want to run the risk of people being unhappy with the functionality and marketing pushing for them to raise the requirement to move product. Just another time when software to pushing the sale of new hardware.

Thanks a mill, It is working with the RevolutionRed stock rom with xionia kernel. If I got the name of the rom wrong please forgive me I haven't visited the forums much since I installed it.

I too am getting the green bar at the top of the screen with the washed out colors. Thought the problem was stagefright so I tried it with and without, same result. I also tried it on non hd movies to see if that was the problem still getting green bar. It is better than nothing while on lunch break in your car.

Man I downloaded the modded apk and it works great wit aosp wit no green bar and it's hella fast I just love it thanx
