Ordered mine as soon as it was available for pre-order at 4:03pm BST Google Store due 12th October.

I was saying to myself that I was going to stick with my 7Pro this year, but then Google went and apparently paid some attention to video this year, so... I pick up my Black 8 Pro at the NYC Google Store on Tuesday, along with the Champagne gold Watch 2. Trading in my backup 6Pro for $400. Not sure what I will get with the 100ish credit yet but will wait for the sales next month...

Wasn't really looking for a new watch because I just purchased a Garmin, but if it is FREE, I will take it. Also, Amazon allows you to split the payments over 5 months so your cc doesn't take the hit all at once. They did not offer trade in, so if you have an older Google phone you want to trade in you can't do it on Amazon.

Excited to try the pixel watch, especially after the disaster I call watchos 10. The one device that kept me tied to iPhone. The new software killed my whole experience, from UI to battery issues with charging and draining insanely fast.

Ordered from Google Store yesterday, Blue P8P and Watch w/ Blue Bellroy case. This morning I did an about face and canceled the order from the Google Store and ordered from Best Buy. Was trading in the P7P and the Best Buy offer with the trade was $130 more. So from Best Buy I ordered the Blue P8P and watch. I ordered the case directly from Bellroy and used my $40 store credit on the Google Store for one of the Google silicon cases, it was free. Should be set...

The fact that the P8P 256 GB is only $60 more than the base 128 GB finally lodged in my brain... Voided my order for the 128 and put in a replacement order with the middle brother. If my experience with it is the same as it was with the P7P, it'll prove to have been a waste of money, but that's a relatively small price for peace of mind. In full disclosure, I would not have made that move if I couldn't still have been promised delivery in the same timeframe...

I can't even preorder a 512GB Verizon Pixel 8 Pro from the Google Store for some reason. I pick the color obsidian, 512GB, choose Verizon (says out of stock - continue to waitlist) tap/click (tried laptop and phone with no luck and same results) on skip for trade in and protect your Pixel and the offers for the watch and buds are grayed out as well as the "Join waitlist" being grayed out.

Not sure what's going on but it's got me ridiculously irritated. Tried last night and again this evening with exact same results.

Have you tried to order the unlocked version instead? It can just as easily be used with Verizon....

Don't want an unlocked version since if there is any issue with the phone or network, they'll just say "Sorry for your trouble."

I've never had an unlocked phone before and not sure if it's better or worse than a Verizon specific phone (I've been with Verizon forever and there is no better network around here) and not sure about the pros and cons.

Find your way to the Pixel 8 section of the forums here. There's a conversation there that I started on this very topic. Our friends there made me very comfortable in the choice of going unlocked... Me, too, for the very first time.

Excellent and thank you very much! I'm also going from a P6P to the P8P. I've LOATHED curved edge screens ever since Samsung came up with them and can't wait to have a flat screened phone again. Now to find a glass screen protector and case for the P8P.

Right there with you - P6P to P8P. And wish I knew how much I'd hate the curved edge before I got it. As trivial as it sounds, that is one of the things I look forward to the most about the 8.

Praying now that the unlock advice is the right one for me to give, as I will also be doing it the first time.
