I have my Gmail account on my computer set up so that I both send and receive from a non gmail account (.edu account). I got my Droid 2 today and set it up, and in gmail I receive the emails from the .edu account, but cannot send the emails from the .edu account in gmail. Is there any way I can set it up so that gmail on my droid mirrors gmail on my computer?

Man, this phone looks great. I *love* my Droid 1, but I like the new style of the Droid 2.

If only I could just extend my contract and trade up to Droid 2 for $99.00.

I don't get the point of this flash. What do I need it for? I tried to watch some flash videos on some of the major tv networks websites and I get errors every time. What gives?

If you're talking about Hulu, they have disabled it for mobile devices because of licensing restrictions. I've watched full length Flash videos on other sites.

Also, sites like CNN don't work on the mobile version of their site because the videos are .mov's. If you switch to the full site, the videos are Flash and they work great.

So then why do we need flash? Is it for games? I do find it nice to be able to view full web pages as they would appear on a computer, but that can't be the only reason. Not with all the hype surrounding flash on a mobile phone.

I was able to play some videos but they were not the best.

The videos I've seen look great. Try:

GTY Videos (click" cancel" on the pop up window asking to transfer to mobile site)

Fox News Videos (scroll to bottom and click on full site)

CNN Video (scroll to bottom and click on full site)

Make sure you are viewing the full sites and not the mobile sites. Also make sure to always click the full screen icon for each video. It is much better quality and eliminates the choppiness.

Regarding Hulu: It's Hulu themselves who are not allowing mobile devices to use their site, it's not a limitation of your Droid 2.

In the Froyo Feature overview posted back in June, it stated that Froyo has a Threaded Call Log, and a 3D Gallery. I have a Droid 2 with none of these features. Am I missing Something? Thanks.

they were removed by Motorola so Motorola could use their proprietary junk
i mean apps

When using the touchscreen for text entry, can you turn the phone on its side and get a landscape swype keyboard?

I like the size of the D2 and I like swype, but I also like landscape keyboards. (I know, the DX has it but man it's a big phone)

Anyone know why for some contact entries it never shows their phone numbers but for others it does? For the ones where you can't see their numbers, you have to press menu, then edit info just to see their phone numbers. I know there's gotta be a pattern I'm not seeing but I can't figure it out and it's driving me crazy.

Moving photos FROM SD card TO Droid 2

Hello-- recently purchased a Droid 2. The verizon worker who set my phone up told me that I could easily take the SD card from my OLD phone, put it in my new Droid 2, and transfer the pics from my card TO my phone (in order to then transfer them back onto the larger SD card that came with the Droid).

I can't seem to figure out how to do this?

Thanks!

You can't without getting a card reader or putting them all on your comp then transfering them to the bigger one. Seems like you salesman didn't know what he was talking about.
And op change it to charge only after you connect your phone to the comp next time you plug it in it shouldn't mount the sdcard

Is there a way to get my D2 to stop automatically mounting the SD card every time I plug it into a computer?

do you have the double twist music player installed, info that's the problem you can go into the apps settings and fix, hope i helped

Motorola is supposedly pushing out

Motorola is supposedly pushing out new updates (2.3.15 I think) to the Droid 2 in batches.

Anyone get it yet, and does it fix the Exchange Sync Pin issue?

The answer to both is yes.
snagged the rom elsewhere and am pleasently surprised.
although the bt audio for phone is a bit lower...

Droid 2 Owners: Do you feel that the screen is not as responsive as it should be? I've had some hands on with the D2 and it's like the screen doesn't respond quickly at all. What do you all have to say about this?

Not at all, it's very responsive. It's not as super fast responsive as an iPhone, Apple did some magic there, but it's definitely nicely responsive. The iPhone just follows the finger with nearly instant response. Every other brand I've tried including my Cowon S9 mp3 player follow movements slower but still well within reasonable response.
