They could have easily removed that bottom black bezel and just extended the screen out. Instead they choose to keep the apparently same exact bezel from the one and remove the capacitive buttons. Now you just have a giant black bar with an HTC logo. That's it. What a waste. And it does look goofy. Overall the phone is nice looking but that black bar is driving me nuts. Seriously HTC just keep the logo on the back and be done with it. Stop trying to reserve and entire section on the front of the phone for your name. No one likes it.

if you really think the logo was the reason for a bezel that big then you are being wayyy too picky.

I don't think the bezel plays any role. I mean when you're using the phone in person you really think you'll end up looking at the bezel? I doubt anyone looks at the bezel of their phone once the screen is on and they're using the phone.

EDIT: After doing a quick search on good ole google, i found these two pictures of the M7 and @evleaks picture of the M8
Obviously not perfectly to scale, but i'd say that even with the black bezel at the bottom they were able to make the rest of the black around the screen even slimmer. That's a plus in my eyes even if they still have the bezel at the bottom.

That's what I said. You don't like it, whether it's the looks, internals, or whatever.

Aesthetics of the phone may be a deal breaker for you, but not for me. The S4 isn't the best looking phone, but I like it.
Like I said before, I wasn't getting the phone either way, but that doesn't mean I couldn't have liked how it looks

Aesthetics of the phone may be a deal breaker for you, but not for me. The S4 isn't the best looking phone, but I like it.

I really dig that color. What I don't dig is the fact that a 16GB model is coming. Will it replace the standard 32gb the One had? I hope not.

I have an issue with the bezels because after owning LG's G2 I just loved it and I expected others to follow suite. I love the G2 at one point I even called it 2013's best but after a few weeks I just couldn't get over the UI.

I love the Z2 because it's an amazing build and design, Sony made the necessary improvements that got my attention. They improved the display greatly, reduced the bezels and increased battery life. This is all hTc had to do, is that so hard?

For all intents and purposes the distance from the bottom of the phone to the top of the menu buttons appears to be the same between the M8 and the Z2.

You're right, your first post was off topic kind of. This was about a leaked press image, which makes it about looks (otherwise known as aesthetics), yet you feel the need to push that those things don't matter and it's all about internals.

Then you jump on someone that voices their opinion about how they feel about the looks, even though you don't think they matter. I have to wonder.... why are you pushing "looks don't matter" in a thread that's about looks? And why do you case so much that he doesn't like the looks?

I jumped on someone? Yes, I know what aesthetics are so no need to explain that. I didn't push anything about internals. He made it clear in multiple posts that he didn't like the looks - fine and dandy but why continue to regurgitate the same stuff? I think "hideous" was the term he used - I simply stated he didn't like it.

When I said that about the internals, I was relating that to how people were and are whining about the bezel. It's like they gotta find something to [inappropriate language removed by moderator] about.
