True. The iPhone 6 and 6 plus have the usual 2 year contract price. I am pretty sure they won't make the Note 4 the exception not offering a 2 year contract price.

Mine says Shipping By 10/23 as well. I did just notice that they are up on Amazon, and the Verizon Wireless Note 4 editions say 10/17, despite the actual Verizon website stating 10/23. Makes no sense to me. Dates seem to be all over the place!

I don't think they give an additional 200 or so bucks off when you trade it in since you apparently get the gift card during the pre order and you then use it when you actually trade your phone for the Note 4. That's the only thing that makes sense to me. I am pretty sure they won't take your phone from you when you go to pre order. Then again, maybe you won't get the card until you actually trade the phone in? They're really not very clear.

The Note 3's came out on different dates. AT&T was ~Oct 3 and Verizon was October 10. T-Mobile and Sprint were somewhere between these two as Verizon was last. So it wouldn't surprise me if that shipping date is true. I was surprised they all had the same release and AT&T reportedly said they would be "among the first" to carry the phone.

There was a longish line at the London Samsung Experience Store for the S5. I might head over.

Yeah gonna get note 4 on release day. I was tempted to get iPhone 6. Went and looked and was not impressed at all.
For instance was reading a mac magazine and IOS 8 just came out. And theyre already having wishlist for ios 9. Most on the wishlist is basically trying to make the iPhone more Android like (widgets, 3rd party apps etc)

Just left best buy with my preorder. Must put up $50, which will be put onto a best buy gift card to hold the order. The day the phone is released you will receive a $200 gift card for any working smartphone trade in. I know the Verizon website says shipped out on the 23rd for some people, but according to the best buy rep the phone will be in stock available on the 17th. For what its worth they also said they were let known the note edge would not be available till around Christmas time.

Everyone's who's ever waited on a flagship phone to be released knows these dates can and will fluctuate. I wouldn't even worry about it until we're well into October. I am sure there will be many threads between now and then where people state that their ship date has changed. Nothing was worse than the Galaxy Nexus debacle.
