Official Verizon HTC One

What are the specs on the VZW One?

They should be the same specs because there isn't another version of HTC One out.

The only thing that is different with the Verizon version is that we get to see 4.2.2 out of the box.

I thought maybe it'd have something special since VZW got it a half a year later.

4 months actually. Plus sometimes getting a phone that had already been out may reduce any bugs on the phone.

What will be the release price for the Verizon HTC One at Best Buy and Verizon?

Its launching at $199 on contract for the 32GB Silver verison. Best Buy always has higher Retail Price phones than Verizon. I would not be suprised if Amazon has it at <$150 within a week or two.

Best Buy will give you a 30 day Price Match Guarantee, meaning if the price drops within 30 days of your purchase they will refund you the difference (via the option you purchased with credit/debit card or cash etc.)

Does BestBuy price match Amazon or Wirefly for smartphones? Off contract pricing too? Thanks.

Best Buy will match Amazon. Im not sure on Wirefly (its up to the Managers in some cases). My experience is that they will NOT match off contract prices. BB really only makes money on mobile when they sell contracts or upgrades. If they were to match carrier prices for off contract phones their margin would be in jeapordy on most devices.

Wirefly offers the HTC One for $150 versus VZ's ~$200 sticker. Further, I save by paying less tax (Wirefly bases it on $150.... VZ bases tax on full retail price) and don't need to wait on mail-in rebates. Seems like a great proposition.

A few questions:

1. Assuming I opt for VZ's insurance policy after activation, if the phone has an issue after the first 30 days, can I bring it into a VZ store to service it under the manufacturer's warranty?
2. I understand that there's a 181-day contract lockup for Wirefly but do I incur penalties if I stick with my VZ plan but decide to swap to another phone (and if I decide to sell my HTC One on the secondary market)?
3. This deal is a pre-order. What has been your experience with how long it takes Wirefly to receive phones at their distribution center? E.g., am I going to need to wait a week or longer after the Aug 22 release?
4. Any pitfalls to be aware of?

Thank you!
