Which phone will you upgrade to

I agree. I think I'll need some hands on with both devices before deciding to switch or not. 3D sounds cool, but is it really practical? I like the idea of 3D, but I don't have any other 3D devices, so I wonder whether it is really useful?

I like the idea of the Nexus, with the developer support that tends to go along with it, but I have never been happy with the build quality of Samsung devices. My wife has an EPIC, and it feels cheap to me.

Im 95% certian i will be getting the EVO 3D when i get my upgrade. I never like getting phones when they first come out so i want to wait and read some reviews. My upgrade isnt until July anyways so there will be plenty out.

EVO 3D all the way. I am getting a Nintendo 3DS this Sunday. I am really liking the implementation of 3D. I bought my OG EVO on Launch Day last year and will do so again this year. This phone is AMAZING. If rumors are true, this phone can be OC'ed close to 2ghz, DIZAMNNNNN:)

I sort of became a fan of replacing my phone every 12 months, so is time for the change. I'm moving forward to the Nexus S 4g for now. The 3D is not really my side of the town

I don't have any complaints with my current Evo4G.

The 3D's lack of kick stand and bad Micro/usb port placement
is enough for me to wait until the next offerings from sprint.

The micro usb is almost the same location just a bit higher up as the Thunderbolt.

Read up in the TB section of this forums, about how new TB owners are trying to cope with the same bad port location on their super phone.

Not being able to charge in landscape mode while watching videos is a big issue for me. And no I don't want to get a case or charging dock to make the next Evo work just like the phone I have now.

Also, I want to see what will happen with Sprint regarding LTE?

My upgrade will now be in 2012 instead of 2011 cause I just got downgraded to Sprint premier Silver member.

I don't want to get another Wimax phone this year which would push my contract into 2013.

If somehow this At&t buy out of T-Mobile
will expedite Sprints plans to deploy LTE sooner? Which I think it will?
I'll be ready next year to welcome in an LTE Super phone?

I think Sprint will do something to use the already existing hardware with their wimax and do some sort of transition to LTE or perhaps support both Wimax & LTE since they operate on different band.

I've read that Sprint wants to use iden's 800 mhz frequency band to deploy LTE?

Now ... will the Evo 3D have an LTE chip installed in it ? This far ahead of their LTE plans which really hasn't been announced yet?

Like another poster has said. Sprint has taken away most of our ability to upgrade Annually? This part of it sucks.

With that said....

The current Evo is still a heck of a phone. When you really think about it?

The only thing that the 3D can do that our current Evo can't is take 3D pictures and videos?

I mean so what if the 3D has 60 mflops Linpack scores right out of the box?

Who know HTC will probably announce a Verizon phone that will have better specs.and features right around the time of the 3D's launch or shortly after ?

Like I stated earlier,I will wait and see what Sprint's LTE plans are before I decide on my next phone?

Keep in mind that nearly all of us who got the Evo when it came out will be paying FULL RETAIL PRICE - $75 for the Evo 3D as Sprint has taken away the 12 month upgrade benefit for all but the very highest rate plans.

I may look at starting to sync all my contracts so we can have leverage to move to another carrier if needed.

Really ? i'm still able to upgrade every 12 month on my 69.99 plans. I am a premier account. Acct from 1999

using the 800mhz should be a good idea as LTE has great building penetration on the 700mhx band

Yep because your over the 10th year with Sprint, you will not lose you annual upgrade privilege . For me I have to wait till 2012 to get the same privilege.

For one thing I know is that I will probably still be sporting my current Evo till this contract is up.

I'm still very happy with this 1st gen Evo.

Sorry,
With your simply everything 450 plan that I assume it is? You will be downgraded to a silver premier member effective April 1st.

In which you will lose your annual upgrade privilege.

Wrong. If his account is from 1999 like how he says then he has been a customer for over 10yrs. He still gets yearly upgrades.

Um I think you are forgetting that the ThunderBolt has a kickstand! So you cannot use the kickstand and landscape while charging. The Evo3D has no kickstand so no propping at an angle on a surface so the side micro usb port really wont be in the way

Perhaps this is another reason they omitted the kickstand in the first place...

Or you could just turn it over on the other side and charge it with cable plugged in from the top ;-)

I do know there is a kickstand for the TB and none for for the 3D. That is why I'am saying, that I don't want a case or dock to make this new Evo work like my current Evo if I was considering on purchasing the 3D?

I'll be sticking with the evo I still have 8 more months until I can upgrade. The Bestbuy Buyback problem looks like it's worth it, I just haven't seen the price yet.
