Oh how I miss my optical trackpad

Not only did I try other phones, I bought the Gnex after my Inc. After 7 days, 2 phones, SIM cards, resets - I went with the Rezound. I really wanted something different, a change, but HTC won me over in the end again.

I really wanted the RAZR MAXX to win me over. I spent some time in a couple trips to the store with it, read reviews, etc. I just didn't like the way it felt in hand, some of the skin features I didn't like. Motorola phones never gave me a warm fuzzy feeling, I tried to like the original RAZR feature phone way back when but couldn't do it.

The RAZR(android) didn't feel right when I tried it out. That and the "new and improved" blur was not something I wanted at all.

Agreed. That's what landed me on the Rezound. Well that and the Galaxy Nexus didn't materialize quick enough lol. And even when it did Verizon crippled my one reason for wanting the phone.

Similar situation, I originally just rented mine awaiting the GN release. I was so dead set on the GN, keeping the Rezond seemed inconcievable. I've got to admit I never expected the Rezound to perform in the manner and at the caliber that it does. Hiccup free and Android were never two synonomous words I could've used in a sentence, in my experiences. I almost expected some weird joke was coming down the pipe one of these days to pinch me out of this ownership daydream.

I do miss the optical "mouse" at times, mostly for moving the cursor around when editing text, but swiftkey has arrow buttons for the phone (wish they did for the tablet) so it's not so bad.

I don't really use sense outside of the mail application which was better than the stock mail on my Asus Transformer. The low memory issue on the DInc was quite annoying and I switched to K9 mail which I use on my tab. On the rezound the mail app is improved somewhat, but I may switch to K9. They definitely improved the music app from the DInc, biggest issue being the fact that shuffle wasn't really shuffle and I'd hear the same song 3 times or more in a sitting rather than once.

As for brand loyalty, I like the build quality and aesthetics of HTC. Pre-smartphones I'd always had problems with Motorola phones and post smartphone I see a lot off people with Moto phones falling apart. Same with LG. I always liked Samsung pre-smartphone, but when I went to a smartphone the HTC Droid Inc seemed like the best option. I still check out all the phones before deciding and I would have liked the Galaxy Nexus, except for the $50 price tag on the Rezound. Additionally since Verizon doesn't carry Samsung's or HTC's flagship phones the Rezound looked to be the best thing for awhile. So despite a few software issues with the DInc I'm a loyal HTC fan just as I'm a fan of Apple's computers, and Asus's tablets :)

Wow can anyone get in on this lovefest?

Granted my smartphone experience isn't that extensive, but I am wow'd by this phone. I knew android was maturing so I accepted all the flaws. Took them in stride.

I am still looking for one with this thing. It just works, like someone else said.

Sense is a huge upgrade over tw, but I am not blindly loyal to HTC. When the next upgrade comes around, I will try all of them out. Mono has almost no chance with me, but I will see what is out there before I jump. With the rezound I have all the time in the world to find what's "next"

I've only had two phones: DInc (2 years, insanely loved) and Rezound (3 months, love grows daily)... yeah, the optical track pad was great for maneuvering through texts.

My wife dropped her DInc (I almost cried)... through insurance, we got a DX (I cried.. that Moto phone sucked balls)... last month I "forced" her to get a Thunderbolt. She wont tell me she likes it but I can tell lol.
