Ok google keeps repeating itself

I'm having some trouble with ok google recently and it's driving me crazy. Every time I say "OK Google, text so and so" and then the message, it repeats the message and asks if I would like to send it or not. Before I can answer, it asks me again what is the message and would i like to send. It keeps on doing this. Eventually I get fed up and just type it by hand. Can anyone help?
