I've had my Droid for 3 weeks and took the plunge. I had some experience in rooting by hacking some psp's for my son and his friends.

I stayed with CyanogenMod 5.0.6.2 so I could run the Drotheme with the Droid Icon pack because I think it looks so cool. Once I got the right kernel from PS3Droid to overclock, it's running smooth and cool. It's very quick too. I've went with 5 screens and it's a work of art, imo. lol

I worked on it for two days and my wife thought I was crazy, but I was proud when it all came together. I'm loving it.... CPU is running about 98deg and maybe 103 when I'm playing the 3d baseball..

Be careful dude! Remember the processor is only 550MHz 1.2GHz is MORE THAN DOUBLE. To me it running that hot is a bit scary! Good luck to you.

I know.. I'm maxing it out at 900, but my profiles are set up, and when power is low or charging/sleeping, it drops down to 600.

As long as the temp doesn't get over 110, I won't worry a whole lot about it. Will it last as long -- no, but I won't have it forever either
