OMFG!!! Next nexus is 4G LTE.

Nexus 4G

The best part is they think it could come out around Thanksgiving. I hope it is on Verizon, but I'll follow it to ATT if necessary.

Yep, this is the only thing that could get me to switch to AT&T or Verizon... NOT... because yay I just realized there is hope it might later come to another carrier! Remember the Nexus S[hit] came out for T-Mobile but now we have the Nexus S[hit] 4G on Sprint. So there is hope for us who do not want to contribute to AT&T's or Verizon's betterment.

Here is to hoping these companies get better/quicker with their updating so I don't have to get a Nexus in order to get fast updates. I LOVE my Nexus One, too! :-)

as much as i would love for this to be the next nexus, doesn't it look too much like a nexus s with its backlight off on its buttons?

It would be cool to have this phone come to Verizon. I would love to see it but sadly LTE could mean anything. It could go to any of the multiple carriers that have announced they will be going to LTE. This eliminates T-Mobile and Sprint because there plan is to stay on HSPA+ for T-Mobile and Sprints WiMax. So the two main carriers that would then be there is Verizon and ATT. This gives you a couple options then. Neither of which have had a Nexus branded phone released on them. If they plan on releasing this phone this year like stated in the article I see it coming to Verizon because they already have their LTE in running service in a good portion of the United States. ATT can?t even seem to get there HSPA+ running in many areas. So I can see it coming to Verizon which is good news.

Now on the specs of the phone. From all the reports I have been reading it is said to have a 4.5 inch screen. This would be good because they are planning on getting rid of the physical or capacitive buttons and having them as software buttons like in Honeycomb. This would be nice you would be able to keep the phone smaller because you would not need all the extra room for the physical or capacitive screens. Next I have seen many different processors and processor speeds that many people have been saying anywhere from 1.2 GHZ all the way up to 1.5GHZ but it has been agreed by all reports that it will have a dual core processor. This is awesome because the Nexus phones are designed to be developer phones. We have not had a full development phone with Dual Core in it yet. This will make it easier for people to have a true test bed for apps that they want to use both cores. Other things that have been agreed on are that it will have a 1 Megapixel Camera on front a 5 Megapixel rear camera. It is said to be able to record up to 1080 P HD video and 1 Gig of Ram. All of this in a very slim package. Which will be nice compared to my favorite phone to date in my LG Revolution.

So overall the phone sounds like an awesome phone. It seems like from all the rumors around that I can foresee a phone like this being announced soon because we had the Nexus S rumors start right around now last year. So all we can do is wait for the announcement and keep our hopes up that it comes to a Carrier with a full LTE network.

Nexus S[hit]? That's odd, I've never heard of that phone. There's a phone called the Nexus S I know of, which was awesome, but never a Nexus S[hit]. Is it an HTC phone? :p

Actually Sprint is now in the LTE game since they just signed a 15 Year deal with Light Squared Sprint to deploy 4G LTE network with LightSquared of course what does that mean for their WiMax, will they convert what they have to LTE and sell it to Light Squared, will they supplement it? Who knows.

But one thing is for sure Verizon needs the next Nexus at launch to regain their top tier position in the US as the carrier to be on. Especially if the ATT Tmobile crap goes through.

Seeing how they said they have to test it and would be out at earliest late in 2012 I wouldnt say they are in the game.
