OMG Verizon Security Update at last

Verizon update to the Note 8 went very well. The phone is running very smoothly and fast!

Downloaded now and hope it doesn't mess anything up. I don't mind not getting updates every month when my phone is running excellent.

This made my husband's note 8 unresponsive. He had to do a factory reset. Mine was fine

So, what was the difference between your phones? Did he have some apps disabled and not re-enable them first before installing the update?

He and I both have standard bloatware apps disabled but his result was different for some reason.

I wish this update would have fixed the problem with OK Google not consistently unlocking the lock screen. This seems to be a problem mostly with Verizon N8 phones. Unfortunately, for me, the problem remains.

be careful because this update will brick your phone and it will not turn on. it just happened to me right now this morning, my phone was stuck on a black off screen with a flashing blue notification LED. it was totally unresponsive and none of the buttons were working. I've had Android for over 10 years and I've never seen anything like this, be careful!

I have no idea what caused it besides the obvious update yesterday but I got my phone back up and running 30 min ago and I did a wipe cache partition. I'm scared to turn it off or plug it in now. I woke up and took it off the charger and it was completely bricked unresponsive this morning with how it all started..

On VZW, Twitter is working but the stock phone app keeps crashing. Tried downloading a different app but it ultimately freezes up when trying to call out or answer an incoming call. The phone then blacks out for a few seconds becoming unresponsive. Anyone experience this?

Several AT&T users had a similar stock phone app issue (I didn't experience it) after the update but a second shut down and restart of the phone, cured the issue in all cases as far as I remember. There was a thread on here somewhere about it in the last two weeks...
