I thought optimizing apps went away in Nougat. Yet here I sit waiting for it to optimize apps.
It's an option in Nougat, but it has to be programmed that way from the start and from the manufactures. Meaning that the manufactures could opt not to do this (which does require essentially double the OS space needed), and it's not something that can be changed after the fact.

And fyi, the LG V20, which was highly promoted as being the first Nougat shipped phone, also does not have seamless updates.

Hmm I've noticed every time I've hit the refresh button on my weather widget that came on the phone from weather channel it says service not available temporarily. I don't know if it was from the update yesterday cause it was fine last night or it just the app. Probably just the app.

This is still not fixed. Come on Verizon, fix this, it's BS.

That's why I hate these updates. Just backed up and did a full reset. Now my phone is working correctly again. Maybe is probably because I had disabled some bloatware when I updated. Such an inconvenience.

Well, yeah. One should ALWAYS re-enable everything they disabled before doing ANY updates. If you don't, more than likely you'll have issues, potentially major. It's because the updates are made for stock phones with stock apps and if certain apps that the update is expecting to be able to update isn't enabled (or apps that closely interact with other apps), it causes issues. I'd be willing to bet that most all with update issues, had disabled apps and that's what caused the "issues", (in quotes because they probably wouldn't have had any problems with the update otherwise).

I received an update this morning and I have the US unlocked version. I didn't see where is said for security though. Said bug fixes. Maybe it's both. I'm on the November security patch

So I guess carriers push out the October patch that I got yesterday and unlocked ones get November patch.

F it, I'm rolling the dice. The only apps in the disabled section in settings is two Verizon apps. I feel like I've disabled way more, but maybe they just uninstalled.

does this address the KRACK wifi hack? or is that something my lame-*** ATT router needs to be updated to fix?
And for anyone else needing the details. All you have to do is tap on the "learn more" in the update popup. Here is a screenshot of what's included.
