On my 2nd Evo, More problems

Hope you get it fixed but I'd like to see a pic of the two side by side or I'm skeptical.

Good luck.

I took some pics earlier but it didn't show up well enough. I keep telling myself I can deal with the screen, but I just can't when I know it should be so much better. The screen is such an important part of a phone like this. I just wish our corporate store had them in stock

Ok, here is the best I could do. Am I crazy?

The Evo has a different tint to other phones. It's evident in every side-by-side pics.

why is one party sunny and the other one is sunny?

set the brightness on max for both and then take a pic. also set both to under the checkmark brightness (very low) and take a pic. please post both.

my question is - is it the autobrightness that's the differential or is it the LCD or is it the backlighting or other?

The screen seems fine on both devices. It seems that one is at a lower brightness setting than the other. Nothing unusual... right?

Ok, I will, one probably hasn't updated the weather yet

It is hard to tell with these pics but the one with the brightness turned all the way down, one is slightly brighter. If I had to guess I would say it is the backlighting thats bad. The light is off white and looks like when a florescent bulb is going bad, the other phone looks like a brand new bulb. The sunken power button issue that other people have mentioned is also on this new phone and quite annoying.

went to several sprint stores, best buy's, and radio shack. Showed both phones to the clerk's and everyone said the one phone looked dull. So I don't know what I'm going to do.

i'd probably request a third one.

maybe third time is a charm?

good luck. you'll get it resolved.

I'm sure all of you down playing my situation would not feel the same way if this was your Evo. The pictures do not do it justice and everyone notices it right away when they see them in person. Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Just got my second Evo today. Problems are persistent through the replacement. Crackling ear piece (though it starts crackling at a slightly higher volume than the first) and Home button corner glass play. I can live with it for now and when it gets worse I'm sure they'll replace it again.

I've decided that my battery life is apparently just going to suck bc I want access to GPS/WiFi/Mobile Data at all times and Live Wallpapers and other stupid battery wasting things. These are the reasons I bought the phone.

I am going to refrain from installing ATK and see how it goes for a few days.

Now if only we could hear some really good news about 3D Gaming on the snapdragon before my 30 days is up...

I got my first Evo last Thursday, Like the phone but my Sprint reception was horrible, Data was unbearably slow most of the time. The phone seemed to never keep a constant signal. My uploads were always triple my download speeds. If I went inside a store I would lose signal and start roaming, but it would take forever for the phone to switch out of roaming once I left. Talked to Sprint and they sent me a new phone. I got it today and so far it seems alot better. As I was rearranging my home screens I noticed while looking at both phones that my replacement Evo had an extremely dull slightly green washed out appearance while my original one looks very nice and Vibrant. I checked the display settings and they are both on automatic brightness. Any thoughts? I also noticed that the power button is recessed farther in on the replacement making it hard to push. I really don't want to have to try an exchange it again. Thanks.

I exchanged my evo yesterday for light leakage. The new one has this same problem with dingy dull whites. HTC quality control sucks...
