Gear 2 Neo issues with Facebook and Skype Notifications

I just upgraded from the Galaxy Gear 1 to the Gear 2 Neo, and I am having issues with 3rd party notifications.

When my friend messages me on Facebook messager or Skype, my phone shows the notification as it normally does but the Gear 2 does not vibrate or show me my notification like my Gear 1 did. I spent an hour with a Samsung tech support guy and we did everything but wipe my phone, but to no avail.

Can anyone help me out? Anyone else having this issue?

Not sure about Skype, but Facebook broke their app. I have been having the same problem for a couple weeks now. My phone (Galaxy S5) nor my watch (Gear 2 Neo) will make an audible sound or vibrate, even though I have triple checked to ensure that I have every thing turned on in the app, my account settings and ensured that the Neo had sound and vibration check marked.

I was a group of friends last night, who all own a Galaxy S5, and I had them turn on their ringtone and vibration just to see what would happen. And low and behold i could hear all three phones notify with a ringtone and vibration.

After comparing that we all had the same Kitkat 4.4.2 OS build and base band, I went and compared my Facebook build to theirs. Mine was the latest Facebook from the Google playstore, none of them use Auto Update, so they were using a version from several iterations before.

They all offered to download the latest Facebook, turn on sound and vibration and retest to see if they get notified with a ring tone/vibration. The silence was deafening. We waited 5 minutes and then checked their phones. In their notification bar was Facebook saying they had a message, but they were not alerted to it by ringtone and vibration.

So there have it folks, definitive proof that Facebook screwed the pooch and broke their own app.

Incidentally, I swapped out my Galaxy S5 phone for the Galaxy Note 4 today. Downloaded latest Facebook app from the Google playstore, made sure all the notifications and sound/vibration were on........and......Nothin, no sound. No vibration.

I have sent a bug report to Facebook, not sure if it will ever be seen.

At least part of the mystery has been solved.

I'm in the Facebook alpha beta testing group and this is something they will be addressing in their upcoming updates. I'm on v23.0.1.5 and I've been getting them some times.
